2-1 lead, runners on 2nd and 3rd, 2 outs, 8th place hitter in the box, pitcher on deck (from the AL, no less). Sure, let's pitch to the hitter with the 1st base open, who promptly dumps a single in the outfield for 2 rbis. I thought the managers are supposed to be helping his own club, not the opposing clubs? He ruined the Mets chance for a win today, that's for sure.
Glad the under turned out for us, would have liked Valentine to give my parlay a fighting chance, though.
