Cincy (-9.5) over ECU
Cincy has beaten 12 of their 14 opponents by 10 or more points (won all 6 meetings with the Pirates by an average of 17.2 points). ECU doesn't have the athletes to stay with the Bearcats. Might be a look ahead game for the bearcats with Louisville on the doorstep. Cincy showed surprisingly good outside shooting against St. louis the other night. All 5 UC starters are averaging in double figures: Jason Maxiell (15.6), Jason Kirkland (14.2), Eric Hicks (13.2), Jihad Muhammad (11.2) and James White (10.1). ECU has struggled behind the three point arch (60-of-223) for the season, or 26.9 %. Their opponents, meanwhile, are converting treys at a 35 percent clip (89-of-254). The Pirates are shotting 40.7 % from the field and only 62.5 % from the free throw line.
GWash (-21) over St. Bonnies
Don't like giving this many to a home team but the colonials should run right by the Bonnies. St. Bonaventure is winless at the Reilly Center (0-5) in their first 13 games, they have been held to 60 or fewer points. Lasalle beat St. Bonnies by 11 and the Colonials beat LaSalle by 29.
UNC (-11) over GT
Schenscher will cause problems for the tarheels. The Yellow Jackets beat the Tar Heels 83-82 in the quarterfinals of last season's ACC tournament. UNC a very deep team should be able to keep a fast paced tempo against GT. Felton has the speed to stay with Jack on defense. Looks like BJ Elder will be out tonight, so McCants should get some open looks. Tarheels cannot allow GT to control pace, UNC has to run Schenscher up and down the court. Get him tired and out of the game then the heels can get the ball inside. UNC crowd should be in full effect tonight.
Cheers
