1-0 yesterday, +1.15 units for the day. LA again comes home as a small dog for me. For all the guys who told me Arizona was the play NOW is the time to play them if you are a chalk player. Not only will they rebound from these two losses they now face two angry pitchers in Johnson and Schilling who both lost their last start. Not for me though. Instead of laying heavy chalk I usually prefer to fade it. Like LA yesterday this one won't be popular but let's try for three dogs in a row:
Kansas City +233 over Oakland Pinnacle
I have only played against the A's one time in this winning streak they are in. Played with them twice. So while I must confess I'm not making a killing on this winning streak I am up a small amount. Usually the price is too high for me to want to risk to play on them. I'm not one to say they are "due" to lose either, just think it's coming soon. When better than facing an all-star pitcher? Byrd is very good. He is 15-10 with an ERA of 3.44 on a team 28 games below playing .500 ball. While it's true the A's are 7-1 against the Royals this year the Royals play them tough. In those 8 games 5 of them was decided by 1 run. Another game was decided by 2 runs. It's not like these guys can't compete and are getting blown out. A close look at the numbers of each pitcher reveals there isn't much difference at all. Byrd actually has a slight edge in most areas. He has more wins, has better control thus gives up less walks, and allows less hits per inning pitched. He also in 1 less start than Hudson has him doubled up in shut-outs and complete games, 2-1 and 6-3 respectively. The one thing he does not fare as well at is giving up the long ball. He must keep the ball in the park and get some support offensively. The Royals will be sky high with their ace in the circle and wanting to end this streak I would imagine. If they give this Byrd fellow some runs this thing may end today. If it does I will be one happy camper. While I am dreaming let me name a score as well:
KC - 7
Oakland - 2
Good luck men no matter what you decide to play.
