LSU 31
Washington 23

LSU dominated the lowly University of Washington . . . . not so fast my friend! The Huskies outgained LSU 478 yards to 321 yards. Washinton also had 25 first downs to 17 first downs for the LSU.

Will add more later.

This final looks like a fairly close game. But the box score shows Bama with 498 yards of offense and 22 first downs to a pitiful 155 yards of offense for the Hokies and only 11 first downs.

3 that could have been a lot closer:

Tulsa 37
Tulane 13

Tulsa has 19 first downs to Tulane's 17 and outgained Tulane by only 48 yards. 412 to 364.

Purdue 52
Toledo 31

Toledo had more first downs -- 26 to Purdue's 25 - and lost the yardage battle by 42 yards in this offensive showcase. Purdue had 535 total yards to Toledo's 493.

Clemson 37
Mid Tenn 14

Both teams had 18 first downs. Clemson outgained Mid Tenn 361 yards to 300 yards. CJ Spiller's kickoff and punt returns made the score look good for the Tigers.

Good stuff.Watched the LSU/Wash game and it was close to going the other way as well, could have been cover by LSU.There was a very ?able first down given to Washington on 3rd down catch,if they don't give him the first they end up punting in their own territory, however they get the first and believe it lead to a TD.LSU didn't even throw to their WR's,this game was not meant to cover if you ask me.I know it is easy to say it after the fact but I played Wash and further more why would Miles use timeouts to save clock at end of first half. They let Wash drive down at end.LSU could have covered that spread even though Wash did move the ball pretty good.
