Friday play -
FAU +32.5 for 3 Units
The Owls were great ATS last year under HC Pelini at 8-3. They improved a ton on defense and will have to do more of that making the jump from the Sun Belt to C-USA. They have some nice weapons on offense both at RB and WR. FAU employs the spread attack on offense. Miami has Florida on deck and HC Al Golden is Mr. Conservative....as you never really see Golden blowout teams. Give me the points in this game!

Thursday play -
UNC/SC u56.5 for 1 Unit
Heels got into a lot of high scoring games last year but this years D figures to be much improved. Couple that with a solid SC D and I think the 1st half of this one is a slugfest with the possibility of things opening up in the 2nd half after both teams settle down. I will hit the 1st half under on this one too. Both teams like to run the ball and I expect more of that come Thursday night.

LOVE the under in the UNC/SC game :toast:

I'm not sure FAU will stop Miami... That game could end up 45-7 easily...

GL this year buddy!!!!

Thursday play -
Minny -14 for 1 Unit
UNLV has a new OC and DC, this always makes things tough for a team trying to rebound from a horrible 2 win season. Minny should be able to move with the ball with QB Nelson and with 17 starters back, along with 4 of their first 5 games at home......they need to make some noise early!

Thanks my friend. I really like what Pelini has done in a short time at FAU and his specialty is defense, something he has really ramped up, his front 7 will be much improved this year, don't forget his team is way more disciplined going from No. 117 Nationally in penalty yard to No. 64 last year! I just don't trust Golden as a coach in terms of betting him as a fav. Plus they have Florida on deck, then a bye week, then Savannah St.......for me that says it all.....look ahead spot!

I like Fresno.... Don't like Hawaii at all... They are a mess right now... I think the reason this line is lower than it should be is USC hasn't decided on a starting QB yet

USC confirmed today they are going to play 2 QB's, which means they don't have a starter lol. Small play for me on Hawaii...probably.

Thursday play -
Fresno St. -10 for 2 Units
Bulldogs have a very aggressive D under their new HC from a year ago........they went from 9 takeaways in 2011 to 35 last season, good for 5th best in the nation. Love Carr at QB for Fresno and they have a stud in WR Davante Adams....a soph this year.

Rutgers travels 3 time zones in a Thurs. night primetime game with 12 new starters......enough said!

So I know the Fresno State team pretty well. Having been to a few games last year and covering their practice sessions for the last month or so. They have a VERY good defense. They have a VERY good offense, esp at QB and receiver positions. Their offensive line is a question and their running back situation is a liability as well. But they have a true Heisman candidate in QB Carr. His receivers are some of the best ever. They have a great coach in Deruyter and good coordinators. Should be one of their best seasons. They need to set the bar high and early on.

So I decided to look deep into what Rutgers brings to this game. I've read several previews. They have lost a ton at the DB position. Most players are freshmen and a new coordinator. Not much on offense either.

That spells trouble against an experienced QB like Carr in the first game of the season on the other side of the country. It will be fairly hot and humid on Thurs night. Fresno St annihilated Colorado last year at home and I see much of the same here. Fresno will be full of anger after last year's bowl game and will want to start the season off strong. I'm guessing Rutgers won't know what hit them. We'll see. But that's what I'm seeing so far. Give up the 10 with the Dogs.....

Always like to read your picks, CG. My top play for the first weekend is OSU -12-1/2 over MSU. I think they win by at least 20. :0074

Thanks for the input, I always welcome it.....it helps a lot when someone has a great handle on their team. I love what Fresno has done with their D and as we both mentioned, their offence is potent. I don't think Rutgers will know what hit them come Thursday night. GL and enjoy the game.

Thanks for the kind words my friend. You have a great handle on the Big 12, what has you so high on Okie St? I worry a bit about their youth at the qb position, thoughts?
