Capping for week 1 is hard enough but this year it is damn near impossible.

I cant recall another off season with so much turmoil.

Players suspended, trades gone bad, players ditching practice, the firing of O coordinators a week before kickoff, new coaches, rookie holdouts, Donte killing someone, Plaxico shooting himself and out, Merrimen arrested, injuries to many key players..and on and on

How can we possibly know how what to expect from most of these teams..

It changes everyday...

Ill continue to work.. but bet small this
sunday:sadwave:

i view week 1 as the complete opposite, the best time to bet because if you know your stuf and certain teams; you'll get better lines than you will later on in the season when every line becomes dead on.

week 1 and 2 it's you vs the book....they have about as much knowledge as we do.....after week 3-4 everyone knows each team and what the lines should be

(and fwiw i think week 17 is the hardest to handicap with the most variables and best to sit out)

I do know my stuff.. And i do my homework but my point is there are more unquantifiable unknowns this off season that make it hard..

Sure you can crunch numbers.. but how does one of your best players running over someone and getting kicked out of football effect the locker room.. Big distractions disrupt practices. Can anyone say with any honesty how the Giants are going to be at WR this year?? You just dont know.

3 teams have fired there O coordinators 1 week before kickoff....This is has never happened. Throw everything you have seen in pre season out the window.. how can anyone even guess what the offenses will throw out there???

My point was besides the basic trades and upgrades there are some distractions in the locker rooms, and teams in turmoil that you just cant handicap.. and this year there seem to be a lot of them..

Frankly ill take weeks 2 through whatever when its me vs the book..I like to know what a team has. Ill bet small till i have my bearings instead of throwing good cash on the unknown.

That being said
