Some data I have collected over the years. These are all my own unofficial counts.

Week 1, 2001:
Fav's outcovered dogs 7-4, with 3 pushes, and 1 Pick Em game.
Home Fav's were 5-3 ATS.
Road Fav's were 2-1-3 ATS.
5 Overs, 10 Unders.
Avg of 36.4 PPG (season Avg PPG was 40.6)

Week 1, 2000
Dogs outcovered fav's 7-6, with 2 Pick Em's.
Home Fav's were 2-7 ATS.
Road Fav's were 4-0 ATS.
5 Overs, 10 Unders.
Avg of 38.8 PPG (season Avg PPG was 41.1)

Week 1, 1999
Dogs outcovered fav's 11-3, with 1 Pick Em.
Home Fav's were 2-7 ATS.
Road Fav's were 1-4 ATS.
8 Overs, 7 Unders.
Avg of 47.3 PPG (season Avg PPG was 41.7)

In the last couple of years, scoring has been lower than average for the first week of the season. Only a recent trend though; could be meaningless. Overall scoring has been on a slight but steady decline (season-long) for a few years now.

I don't know how helpful this all is, but usually someone wants to know some first-week history.

Antonio - Well, like I said, those are my figures, they may not match up exactly with what everyone else has, but they should be close. I've kept track of hundreds of stats based on closing lines over the years, but I've used a number of different sources for closing lines....so there are some inconsistencies.

MrChristo - Not a problem, hope it helps.
