i get the benefit of two teams on a streak of consecutive overs - the eagles 5 straight overs and the gmen 4 straight overs. i also get the benefit of these two teams playing their most recent games in primetime. the giants/cowboys game putting up 53 total points sunday night and the birds/skins putting up 87 total points monday night. both games last season between these two teams also went over the total.
now we have a total set for the eagles/giants at 49 - the highest lined total for either team this year.
for the reasons above...and below i am playing eagles/gmen under 49.
this is a division game with sole possession of first place on the line. with the exception of the giants week 4 game vs chicago (4th total defense - a 17-3 w), neither team has faced defenses as good as these two. the giants first 9 games have been against teams with an average Total Defense ranking of 20th. the eagles first 9 games have been against teams with an average Total Defense ranking of 22nd. that's the stats.
from a personal standpoint, i have to think the giants best chance at winning is to play a possession type game, keeping the eagles O off the field with a heavy dose of bradshaw and jacobs and burning time off the clock.
