Nothing jumped off the page like last week for me, but Arkansas did catch my eye. Tougher card but I'm sure we'll find some gems.

I agree completely. Much tougher card. I don't anticipate ending up with more than 3-4 plays.

The 24-10 score in Bama's W over Vandy is a bit misleading. Bama passing game will be weak imo, and they will not be able to shred Arky's defensive front on the ground as they did the Dores. Nutt and co. had are off a bye, which means they are rested and received extra prep time.

I am going to need to break this thing down
and look at it.....however, my initial thought is
Washington +4 covers and may win SU.

For those who have not seen Locker play,
this kid is a tremendous gamer and I am sure
that he and the remainder of the O will come
to play

Cie,

Careful with Utah, they are without the following due to injuries.

#1 QB
#1 Running Back
#1 O lineman
#1 Reciever

The new QB Grady doesn't look very good.

Played one small:

ND +10 [-120] x1 With Henne injured, I like NDs chances of hanging tight. Look for continued improvement from Clausen. The little I've seen of Mich defense, it appears their defenders play with lead weights in their shoes.

Houston -14.5 @ Tulane looks nice. Cougs racked up nearly 600 yds vs. Oregon, and Tulane D is poor at best. The Superdome is empty for TUL games, thus home field edge is minimal.

Iowa State has NO chance against the Hawkeyes on Saturday, Cie. Lay the points here or pass; The Clowns got rolled by I-AA Northern Iowa AT home Saturday, and Iowa will pound them, too.
State won't wn a game this year and will be lucky to even cover in many of their games.
Thru two games the Iowa defense has only allowed 45 net yards rushing, holding their two opponents to an avg of 0.9 yrds per attempt.
NO WAY Iowa State improves on those numbers and this being a huge game in the state of Iowa, there is virtually no chance Iowa doesn't cover the number here.

Thanks for the heads up. I listed Iowa St as a lean because I figure the Hawkeyes won't take this game as seriously as usual with a showdown @ Wisky on deck. I will play small on ISU or lay off.

reds, just chiming in with my $0.02:

When I see strong convictions like yours, "NO WAY Iowa State improves on those numbers and this being a huge game in the state of Iowa, there is virtually no chance Iowa doesn't cover the number here." ---that is usually an immediate red flag to start considering Iowa State. Vegas is not stupid, they know of Iowa State's embarrassment, they know where the public will be, etc....

I agree with much of your post.

Personally, I try to use the ebb and flow of public perception to my advantage throughout the season. For example, I am hoping for Iowa to barely scrape past ISU this week so I can pound the Hawkeyes plus the points @ Wisky next week.

Cie...we think alike, only I probably weigh public perception a lot heavier than most in determining my picks.

Cool. Pound Iowa State and lose your money...:mj07:

Cie Grant,

normally I'd agree with the look ahead by the Hawkeyes-but not this season. Coming off last years weak results--and Drew Tate no longer being around--this team is focused and ready to win some games this fall. Think reality sets in when they travel to Madison on the 22nd, but the outcome is not in doubt come Saturday in Ames.

w/ u on iowa st and MTSU...also feel strongly about USC laying 10 @ nebraska. nebraska's defense is slow once again.

not alot has jumped out at me this week much like Blackman said.

I got my eye on a few though. I think ND just might have a chance to keep it within the 10

Good luck this weekend.

Thx gents.

Played 2:

SMiss -1 x3 Better offense led by experienced QB and better defense. Revenge in mind for USM after ECU upended them at home LY for their only conference loss.
MD +17 [-120]x2 The Fridge and his team have been working towards this game. Terps keep it close. Plus, big inj. on WV d line.

I'm gonna look @ VT -21. The new running qb is fast. Hokies should be pissed, no:shrug: I will have to look into Ohio as I'm completely unfamiliar.
