Been a busy week, and shockingly I do not like many lines, but am making a play for tonight.

BYU +2 .....call it a gut play, but Bronco Mendenhall is too good of a coach to let his team fall into this obvious trap. This line movement is so extreme it makes me think I'm overlooking something, but I'll roll the dice regardless.

Is BYU the 8th best team in the nation? No. Are they the best team in a pretty good MWC? Yes, without a doubt.

Best of luck.

I agree that Mendenhall is a very good coach, but to say "without a doubt" they are the best team in the MWC is a bit much. Utah might have something to say about that. Frankly, I think Utah's equally if not more talented than BYU. Utah's problem is their coach is average at best. The Utah/BYU game should be great.

Regarding the TCU game, for me, too hard to call. BYU has played no one this year, in racking up their wins. This is their first semi-legit test. I think BYU is better than the usual BYU team, and I think TCU is worse than the usual TCU team, at least offensively. Home teams have a way of getting up for these weeknight TV games, TCU should be no exception. It's just too close to call for me, but good luck on your pick.

Kelly -- thanks for the feedback, this is what makes this board great. I may have been a little over the top by saying "without a doubt" but I've felt all year the MWC title will be decided when BYU meets Utah, and I give the edge to the Cougars this season, based on their defensive intensity.
Maybe I'll be wrong, it's happened a bunch of times already this season.

This line reeks of a trap and I'm betting right into it. Maybe the joke will be on me, only time will tell.

Good luck.

No worries, I was just throwing in my .02 for what it's worth. I agree it will be decided by the Utah/BYU game. Unfortunately, I feel BYU is better coached, and Utah's QB has an amazing tendency to make crucial mistakes at inopportune times. As a former non-Mormon resident, I'm always hopeful BYU gets crushed, though.

I can't decide on BYU/TCU, so I'm just taking the under. Don't see TCU scoring much, and am hoping TCU's defense can hold BYU down a bit.

Good luck:mj06:

Adding another unit on BYU +2.5, making it a double play. I've thought they were the best team in the MWC all year and nothing has changed my mind, even this wild line movement.

Maybe I'm missing something and will feel dumb in a few hours. We'll see.

Good luck.

Best of luck.

I agree with ya! This board rocks! Without it, I never would have been where I am right now with betting sports. This board can help people make a chitload of money week in and week out! You and I both missed this one in a big way today. But hell, we'll be back tomorrow, and cashing the ticket. 2 more dogs today to push the trend to 17-5-1 this month on dogs/line moves of 2.5 or more on weeknights....

The trend is telling me Hawaii on the road! :scared :scared :scared :scared

Hoping the line hits 25+ by tomorrow to convince me easier....

Adding:

Ohio State -3 x2.......I like Sparty a lot but they are one dimensional, and Ohio State should be able to handle their rushing attack. OSU has been a covering machine in conference and I do not think they will have problems this Saturday continuing that trend.

I'm on the other side here, I just have no confidence in the OSU offense. Think the home field is the difference. I understand your point about Sparty's reliance on Ringer but think that if the Buckeye's really stack up the front that Hoyer may be able to make a couple of plays.

LSU -2.....Miles is 22-1 against unranked opponents, plus LSU's dominance in night games, both home and road. Trust the bigger and stronger line play of the Tigers.

Good luck.

Texas Tech -20.5.....the type of game that they will run it up for effect. A&M D gives up a ton of yards as it is, does not force turnovers, and will be completely overmatched. Tech loves to blow people out and they'll have their opportunity to make this one ugly.
