Wisky (-35.5) over UNLV
New coach same players for UNLV. I do not expect a lot from this two win team from a year ago. The Wilson time in camp Randle. He brings a lot to the table not only as a dynamic passer but a solid runner. Can wisky replace Clay at running back, Ball and White think they can. Holes on the offensive line are scary when the badgers get into harder games. They have a solid player in Kurtz in the middle of the line. They have only five returning offensive players but wilson and the running backs turn that number to more like seven. On defense the badgers return six but they have the crowd. They should establish the run all day and Wilson makes some throws and runs that sparks the crowd. The badgers have the edge and the power to just push over the rebels. They don't throw a ton so 35 is not safe but I think the run without being stopped and the defense is too tough for UNLV to put up more than 17 points. Looking for jump around to play as loud as the badgers will to open the season and set the table for the season. Wisky is overvalued in NCAA but not so in this game. They run and game plan far beyond UNLV ability.

So is that how this is gonna go this year? Starters go 100% on all drives leading to points and it's rank town with two mins left in the third. Not so sure that's the right play coach. After all didn't you hang 70 on a team three times last year and eighty once? That's how it bounces.

Baylor (+4.5) over TCU
Patterson has too many questions before I back that team. Six returning starters on defense with the tank leading the way. I'm just wondering if the defensive line can keep bodies off him to let him run around and make plays. Will he be playing the run or does he have to help the three new comers in the secondary. I think the defense should be ok but I wonder about offense. Yes I know Patterson has reloaded before but has he replaced FOUR offensive line starters and a QB in one off season? I know Pachall is the gem QB in TCU recruiting but can he stay on his feet. Remember he is only a sophomore. They have great skill positions but I'm am not thrilled about the questions. So why play this game. Well Baylor is on the verge for greatness or the bust let's rebuild. Four of five starting offensive linemen are back. They get a transfer TE from Stanford to help that starter loss. Need to find a runner so that's the only question. I think Baylor will have one of the top lines in the country. The speed outside for Baylor at wr is unreal. Did I mention TCU is breaking in new safeties. I mean for the love of god. Art Briles has a full cabinet of talent and this guy has a pretty solid offensive mind. So what in creation will hold them back. Let's talk about defense they ranked 104 overall last year. But that's last year. Now they have Phil Bennett from Pitt to change that and I think he will make an immediate change. A new secondary is scary but they return the front six and that should be a big advantage in the new system. That different system will be a big improvement and the offense should have people talking. I actually like the bear who play very well at home to win this game outright. TCU might be as good as last year but I just don't see it right now. I am very high on Baylor going into this year but they could prove me wrong early. Like the bears to win and I'll take some ML and on the points.

South Florida (+10) over Notre Dame
Time for some of skips guys to get in the line up. This is Daniels team and honestly I'm just not a big fan. What I really like is transfer Scott from Colorado getting a breath of fresh Florida air to get the wheels going. Remember this guy was the number one guy out of highschool in 07. With starting running back gone he could shine but it's a battle back there. Two returning lineman but I like the right tackle a lot. He is a freshman but eatmon can flat out run block. A ton of holes on the bulls offense but they have some serious playmakers. The bulls return a strong secondary which already ranked 24th last season. Can they get help up front though, giddins might be a star here but they need help getting pressure. Notre dame is getting a lot of love. They return the house this year and look to make the turn to elite again. Kelly has his guys and they finished the season with four wins. Giving up 2 offensive tds in that stretch. Te'o might be the best linebacker in football this year but I'm not sold on the Irish just yet. Might be a lot of pep in the Irish step but at Michigan next week might have the bulls getting little respect. Doubt that happens week one but it can. I give credit ND is the better team at home with a better coach and more talent. I like south Florida to see this game as a championship game and come out with nothing to lose. They play free and easy and the pressure might bite ND. The Irish spreads it out but I'll wait to see a running back step up before they get a heavy vote from me. Bull QB needs to have a big game and I am banking on his experience, health, and feet to lead the bulls into south bend and fight the Irish.

OVER (29.5) Baylor/TCU

Looking for the heat to cause some big plays. Lots of value with TCU down 11 if they ralley then I'm half way home and thats if Baylor shows nothing. Briles system works well in heat.

Houston (-3) over UCLA
Case Keenum, he is the Brett Farve of Houston. This being his sixth year at Houston. If your an NFL player in your sixth year you know a system in and out and thats what I expect from him tonight. Remember guys Houston was a national player when Keenum was under center two years ago. Looking over this game you have to look offense and can a defense stay with an offense. Well Joe Tresey was brought into UCLA to fix the problems but he will not have the peices to do it. I think they brought him in because Rick is just not the guy and they need other strong coaches to help out ala Norm Chow. Rick had his day but if you remember he was buying players and they were running the campus raping people. The Bruins can run the ball but that will not be enough, the cougars have far more speed to spread UCLA too thin and pick them apart. This is a huge game for Case because I think it was in a loss to UCLA last season he got hurt. I think that is a big difference this time and he throws all over the bruins. Houston was 103rd nationally in total D, thats out right bad. But in this game the cougar strength on defense is LB and UCLA runs the ball so I think they will be much improved getting to the runner to slow down the big run. That ability to stay ontop of UCLA will help the Houston offense pull away and get UCLA out of the game plan. I think in a game where players make plays Houtin has the advantage and they get a nice home field advantage.

Oregon (-4) over LSU
The folks in Eugene are saying this is bigger than the national championship. The ducks know they need this win if they are to stay in the big picture. Big holes on the offense and defensive lines scare me from making this a big play.Everyone knows about the suspensions in LSU but lossing Oregons Harris to an off the field thing hurts the ducks in the defensive secondary and special teams. That being said losing the start QB and LB for the tigers is a big slam. I think the Tigers might not be ready for the tempo at which Oregon runs the spread option. This will get players out of position and Blount and Barner will make big plays. What Oregon brings with the defense is speed. They can get off blocks and have motor to get to players with the ball. I think they are a good unit but they need a star. They have a lot of effort guys and this seems like an effort game. All the stuff surrounding these two teams takes some focus off the table but the ducks should bring the more involved offense. Kelly vs Miles, a good showdown but I like Kelly a bit more. I think losing Peterson will really hurt LSU in the special teams and oregon makes some plays in that department. Remember Thomas was really only a full time guy last season and getting him back in the Kelly system should only make him a bigger threat to run or throw. I expect he has a big game. After all Auburn stopped the run and he was able to handle that last season. Like the ducks to keep LSU on their heels and pull away.

Michigan (-14) over W. Mich
Hoke is a proven winner. He has the most dynamic player in NCAA in Robinson under center. Hoke has a proven system that works and works early. I think they come out on fire and look to get the crowd back in the big house. This is a statement game for Michigan. Too many years do they come out soft and the season is not up to the standard. Not today, Michigan comes out looking to get the Rich Rod taste out of the big blue mouth.

Boise (-3.5) over Georgia
Boise needs to replace WR thats gonna be an easier task then replacing what Georgia lost. Georgia was a different team with Green in the line up and even though I think Georgia has talent they do not have a play maker. Georgia has issues with depth at o-line and they have a questionable stable of runningbacks. Georgia has questions at secondary and Kellen will have a big day hitting a lot of different guys. Boise wins these opening games, they did it against oregon two years ago and VT last year. Peterson with all this time to get ready will out coach Georgia.

Tulsa (+25) over Oklahoma
GIKinne and the tulsa offense have enough guys to keep this under the number. I was not sold on the sooner offense last season and they lost Murray. Tulsa defense is bad but they have a different look and Landry might not be used to it. I look for the hurricanes to score in the 28 point area and Oklahoma to be around 40.

N'Wester (-3.5) over BC
BC lost a lot of o-line players. I dont like this a ton because N'Western is using their back up QB. Still I think they are the better team. Should be a close game.

S.Carolina (-20.5) over ECU
Like this cause Connor Shaw is under center. I think he is the better option in SC and they have 14 returning players including IMO the best running back in the NCAA. Look for ECU to be blown off the ball on the right because the gamecocks right tackle is a solid player and they can get into the second level before ECU can get to them. ECU has Domique Davis and some players but they do not have the ability to stop SC on defense. The gamecocks run over and throw by the pirates. Look for spurrir not to let up and they pull away. The SC defense is very strong up front and they have a solid LB group. What I love is the SC ability to cover. They are very good deep and have some great one on one cover guys. They can lock it down and bring heat and ECU will struggle to protect. Every one loving Jeffery I think Ace Sanders (small fast guy) can be a very good slot stretch the field guy today. Shaw has the keys now he needs to make plays.

WVU (-24) over Marshall
This game will be the Offense game Plan will be to showcase the Dana plays. This will be a team that gets the galant vs a team that has some players but not enough. They will be spread out and look out. Geno finally has a coach that will make him a superstar. He has all the talent but previous systems dis not fit him this does. They have a lot of speed and power at running back but not in one guy. They have more of a slash and dash wr core but they do have size. Tons of holes to fill on defense but they return the beat overall player. Looking for wvu to make a statement. Friends of coal yes friends no. The west Virginia offense will put up a lot of numbers today. Dana not only has to impress but he has a lot of people against him with how the whole homegrown bill Stewart thing went down. Best way to make all happy is to lay the wood.

Texas A&M (-16) over SMU
This is a value play for me. Smaller than WVU but A&M returns the house. They lost miller but they have guys to replace and be alright but not Miller star caliber. I am very high on the afford and under 20 makes them solid value play to smack an SMU team that just does not have the talent for a jones offense. The stands will spread the afford out but A&M can get to Padron and get in his head.

Side note. A little upset about the careless play of Oregon that cost me and I have to admit shaw is not the QB for the offense spurrir has. He has the arm but not the running. That also cost me. But that's the way it goes.

Miami (+4) over Maryland
Like this because the U has a lot to play for and the terps are now going to a run first system. Edsell is a great coach but his best player is a sophomore QB that's a thrower and he is going to be asked to had off. Miami is full of speed and talent. Can they get it done on the field. They have a quick defense and a speedy offense. They have a lot of players that can make plays. I expect turning to the QB is too much to ask but I like the running game to open holes and get to the second level. If they get push then Miami wins this game. I think highly of the talent at the U but I winder if they cab put it into form. Maryland will be formed and ready but I just don't think they have the talent on the offensive line to do the new system. They have players but I'm not sure they can get the safety out of the box that means the run defense can crash holes. Should be a good game and I just think the U has more talent as these teams look to turn themselves around.
