Army -9 over UL Monroe ****
Army's new shot gun offense will have more passing in attack . OL is back and Dailey has won the qb job Think with new formations and offense " it will keep the defenses guessing" They still will run the ball and Jacobi the FB although somewhat injured has never lost a yd They have depth at qb somewhat inexperienced and think the Black Nites defense will keep the UL players in check. Think when Army plays the LSU's their pass blocking schemes are different and the triple option wishbone is different. Army doesn't pass block vs the Oklahoma's and Michigan's because their Ol is no match for the size and agility of these defensive linemen who are all 30-50 pounds bigger and just as agile. UL Def linemen don't pose that same threat. Monken new offense isn't the triple option but they will still run and run Now adding the shot gun Army does have some solid wr's in its attack. Army beat UL last yr 48-24 and the 2 years ago 37-7. Think Black nites although on the road win by a few td's.

Texas -36.5 over Rice ****
Back tomorrow with a breakdown

Cal -6 over North Texas ***
Line dropped by a couple . NT has new coach new qb new off. schemes but has its top rb's back They are playing in Denton where the heat is hot. We are in a " Heat Dome" but think they are playing later in the day. Cal has TCU transfer dual threat qb Jackson and think Mean Green will be chasing him all day.

Auburn -35 over UMass ***
UMass gave up +200 yds on rushing and passing vs New Mex St last week in their win. But Tigers are a different animal and think Auburn runs all over UMass. UMass won their one win for the year , They are happy now.

UTSA -2 over Houston ****
Roadrunners qb Harris is back and don't think Coogs can stay with UTSA. Coach turned down offers to coach anywhere. Traylor is out recruiting the top Texas HS kids and its paying off now. Last yr UTSA was +4 and lost in OT to Houston 37-34 This year they win outright

Coastal +14 over UCLA **
Love the Coastal qb McCall . Bruins will win but MCall keeps it close.

Oklahoma -36 over Ark St **
Sooners had an off year . But on opening day they have scored 43,40,48,49,and 63 in the past few years. Meanwhile Red Wolves played Grambling,Central Ark the past 2 and now playing at Oklahoma . No mercy vs this Sun Belt team that was 3-9 last yr.

Back later with Texas-Rice game

Going to Tex St-Baylor game tonight in Waco Am a guest of some Bear fans even though I will be sitting in the Tex St section Will wear my North Texas polo shirt to blend in with the Baylor green fans . Nobody will read the NT on my shirt and think I am a Baylor fan Put small amount on Tex St despite new coach,65 new players etc Hoping for maybe a backdoor cover since Bears had a lot of its players from last year graduate Last year watched the game in San Marcos Took Tex St +30 at home but Baylor won 42-7.
