Updated Record: 39-27 for +36.55 units
Running late today, but this is what I?m going with for the Friday games:
Ole Miss +100 (vs. Georgia) for 2 units ? Georgia definitely has the edge offensively. Starting pitching by the numbers is pretty similar, but one pitcher is hot and one isn?t. Ole Miss has Drew Pomeranz starting. Pomeranz has a 3.59 ERA; 1.15 WHIP; .236 opponents avg. and 43 K?s in 42 2/3 IP. He pitched real well his last time out versus Florida. Georgia will send their ace Senior Trevor Holder to the mound. Holder has a 3.88 ERA; 1.33 WHIP; .256 opponents avg. and 48 K?s in 53 1/3 IP. Holder hasn?t been blown up in his recent outings, but he has been average at best. Big crowd expected at Ole Miss tonight for this one and I like for the home club to come away with the victory.
Georgia Tech +100 (@ Clemson) for 4 units ? Clemson has slightly more depth in their pen between these two clubs. Offensively the edge goes to Tech as they are one of the more explosive clubs in the entire country. Starting pitching favors Georgia Tech too in my mind. Deck McGuire starts for Georgia Tech and he has a 2.56 ERA; 1.19 WHIP; .219 opponents avg. and 75 K?s in 49 2/3 IP. McGuire has been red hot lately against some really good offenses and should be able to keep Clemson?s bats down. Chris Dwyer starts for Clemson and has some decent stats (4.30 ERA; 1.22 WHIP), but Tech?s potent offense should be able to get to him tonight.
Kansas State +220 (@ Texas) for 1 unit ? Never like going against a hot club like Texas is right now, especially with how good they are pitching wise, but this price is very appealing for a Kansas State team that is pretty good offensively. AJ Morris starts pitching wise for Kansas State and has proven to be one of the best Friday night starters in the Big XII. He has a 1.31 ERA; 0.95 WHIP; and .184 opponents avg. Texas sends their ace Chance Ruffin to the mound who also has some really good stats. He has a 2.65 ERA; 1.06 WHIP and .222 opponents avg. Texas offense hasn?t produced runs consistently (.283 team batting avg. and averaging 5.3 runs per game) and I think it has the chance to bite them here tonight. Texas should win this series, but I like the dog price with a good pitcher for Kansas State tonight.
Texas A&M -135 (vs. Oklahoma State) for 2 units ? Offenses and bullpens are very similar for these two clubs. Big difference is in starting pitching. Brooks Raley goes for A&M. He has a 2.02 ERA; 0.90 WHIP; .189 opponents avg. and 65 K?s in 62 1/3 IP. Oklahoma State counters with Tyler Blanford. Blanford has a 4.55 ERA; 1.19 WHIP; .188 opponents avg. and 71 K?s in 57 1/3 IP. Blanford, as shown by his stats, is a good pitcher, but he hasn?t fared well in recent outings. He fared really well against lower competition but has faltered a bit recently in conference play.
GL guys.
