CP is looking like it may go below $30 hopefully. would like at building up the position on some weakness.
CNR (CNI) is doing well, almost fully valued, still trades at less than 15X earnings, in this market that is cheap.
BCE have $40Cdn. calls expiring this month, will look to write $40 again but cannot get anything for them. know some people who have written $32.50 puts cdn. between $1.70-$1.30. not going to do this, have all the BCE I want for now. yield will support the stock.
Verizon, SBC are the other telecoms I own will look to write options on these.
GE own the stock have covered calls on the position and wrote puts on the stock, they are in the money below $35. believe GE will trade between $32.50-$40. in the next 30/60 days.
Tyco has been hurt by some news stories if they ever sell their financial arm they will get good offers for it, maybe from GE or AIG.
some research reports I have read claim a book value of between $45-$52.50US. I wil never own this stock impossible to follow, if you buy it have a stop loss.
looking at Worldcom, and Calpine they have been beaten down so going to look at them. not buying yet. if I buy them will have 15% stop losses on these two stocks.
Enron hearings are interesting only saw 40 minutes of them. former CEO Jeffery Skilling could recall a magazine article a year ago in great details but many board meetings and other decissions were "dont recall". classic.
Global crossing also has/had some funny accounting. they will change some rules but it will still happen.
by the way I have heard many times about the small investor loses in Enron, how about mutual funds, pension funds, the list is long.
gold is going up, maybe on a run, think it will hit $310, but if it flies past that there may be interest in gold, the region I am from has some of the richest gold mines in North America (world), moose pasture can become worth millions, during a mining boom with a good story. or two.
still not a gold bug, only holding is Franco Nevada and sold most of my holding for $25 cdn. should have waited.
