about 20 miles north of Panama City at a dogtrack in Ebro, Florida.
They only have 1/2 tables for ring games plus 10 man tourneys. On some days they have 6 table tourneys.
I played an hour on a hold 'em table after I registered for a tourney, and I won 70 bucks. It was a no fold-em hold 'em type game. I just played quality hands, and won all of them that I played (go figure).
The tournament was for 10 people, and the blinds went up every 10 minutes, and you only started with 1000 chips. It was very similar to a speed tourney on PokerStars I thought. Way too fast. However, I won that too.
The bad thing about this place is although there were plenty of people throwing their money away, I'm sure if I played like that on a 1/2 table for long, I would be getting bad beats out the ass consistently since none of them were folding.
The tourney was a 40 dollar buy-in, and I won, but my prize was only 160 bucks. :cursin: If I figured right, I think the track's take on the tournaments is way too much!! :scared :scared That's just too much of a ripoff. The winnings for the top three were 160, 90, and 60. The 6 table tourney flyer I saw awarded only 7 places with the winner getting only $750 (45 dollar buy-in).
It looked like the rake on each holdem hand was 4 bucks on each hand that was bet every time through the river :scared :scared
I think there's a lot better bang for your buck online although I thoroughly enjoyed playing live. Opinions?
