These teams are headed in different directions. WVU will have their way running the ball. Although passing has been sort of a struggle for the Mountaineers this year..VT's pass defense has been terrible latley. All I know, is WVU absolutley manhandled BC and Syracuse (Played Miami very close until 8 minutes left in the game)....

Intangibles....WVU will be sky high for this game. They hold their own destiny...the kids are really playing well together. VT is reeling..close games with Temple and overtime loss to Syracuse and Pitt.

WVU is a gigantic play for me. Monster play.

I can't say WVU in going to win this game, but +8 does appear to be quite the gift. I'm on this as well.

Help

WVA has won 5 in a row ATS, 4-1 SU. Only loss against Miami, where they had 363 rush yds. Jones isn't 100%, and without him VT looked terrible against the crappy orangemen. I think the fact that WV hasn't beaten VT in 4 yrs adds to the favor of WV. Everyone on that team has never beaten VT, so they want this bad. VT's season is over and they can't win the BIG EAST or be in the BCS. They may go 0-4 to lose the season.
I've been on the Iowa and WVA train the last several weeks and been making money. Looking to let it ride on WVA. If anybody has sound reason to bet VT, please post. I like WV to win, and I love the pts.

Special teams

VT always seems to block a punt or field goal or run back a punt vs. WVU.

Actually, Rich Rodriguez (WVU head coach) has structured his special teams to defend against VT Beamer Ball...so, I don't think that will happen. If you dig deep into interviews of WVU players about this game..you'll get the feeling this is their Super Bowl.

With the ungodly production of WVU's running game and the athleticism of rasheed marshall at QB..I don't think Tech can stop them.

WVU defensively is running a weird 3-3-5 type of attack...its nothing that anyone in the Big East is using. It has been effective in crossing teams up. Although, Beamer has had a few extra days to scout it..it has been really effective over the past 5 weeks.

Finally, if you look at WVU losses this year (3)
Wisconsin lost 34-17..they gave up 28 2nd quarter points..other than that they outplayed Wisconsin.

Maryland- once again gave up 35 points in the first 18 minutes and mailed it in the rest of the game.

Miami- at the start of the 4th quarter it was 24-23..until Dorsey caught the secondary napping on a long strike which sealed the deal.

The wins have been impressive with total whoop ass...Mountaineers in their Big East wins are averaging over 350 yards rushing!!!

I wish you guys luck.
I disagree though. Vt is my goy. They will be the team sky high. Remember this game has a lot of recruiting implications. Beamer will have this team Jacked. At Home??? Can't see them being flat here.

All of WVUs BIG wins have been at home

All of WVUs BIG wins have been at home

where they are unbelievable..I too am a BIG WVU fan..My College GOY was on WVU gainst a pathetic Cuse team..IMHO I believe this game unfolds like the Maryland game where WVU will not be able to run the ball(consistant) and Marshall couldn't throw it in the ocean standing on an island...Its really hard to go against my eers...Ive been a fan and played sports in WV since 72 but I gotta belive Beemer Ball will just be too much...This line 3 weeks ago woud have easily been 15-20..Now only 7.5...I personally made a BIG play on Va Tech-7(Bought it down)..I just thought Id throw my two cents in since I LOVE talking Mountaineer Sports..

GL to Ya!!!

Va Tech started out great but basically has gotten worse w/each game. They used to win and cover, then win & not cover; now they can't do either. They used to be able to stop the run but both Pitt and Syra hung up over 200 rush yards on them. WV's run defense seems to be on the improve as Miami FL is the only team in the last 5 games to rush for over 80 yards against them and Mia only ran for 102 on 37 carries. If VT doesn't block a punt, they won't win, let alone cover.

I'll admit and issue a warning..I may be a little biased :)

But, Tech had trouble with Temple (20-10) at home WVU went to Philly and built a 37-0 lead in 2 quarters and coasted. Tech has given up over a 1000 yards of offense to Pitt and Syracuse. I don't think Syracuse passed midfield vs. WVU until mid 3rd QT. I really think taking the points is the only way.

Good Luck to all

all those taking Tech....... :thefinger :D

I finally added something to a winning thread. WVU dominated the game and still almost choked. Been talking trash about this game since Monday, thought I might had jinxed the ML at the end but WVU pulled through. Congrats Wilson and the Mountaineers.
