Western Union Withdrawl

What information do you have to provide Western Union when you pick up cash?

I've never done it before and wondering what to expect.

If you're collecting over $1000 you need proof, like your drivers license. That should be it.

Anything over $2999.99 including the fees a seperate form is filled out and reported to the US GOVERNMENT of your transaction with every detail including where its coming from and to.

I only do a withdrawal of WU or MG for $2900 no more.

It doesnt get reported to the government over 2900.00 But you have to show 2 forms of id and fill out a paper.i did it plenty of times but now i don't.They started this after 911.As the poster stated you are better off with around 2500.00 per day.
if you need alot of money on that day you can do 2500 wu and than do money gram.money gram is now only 1500 per day

i use BJ and i use there card.you can go to any atm and get your money.it's only 500 per day but its the best way.Or get a check fed ex in 2 days..
ask bj for the card.you can fill it out on there site.Good luck

Well I was trying to avoid having to cash a foreign check at my bank again.

This time it is under 3k but none of the western union places have that much cash. So they said I would end up with a check from Western Union.

So bottom line it looks like I'll still be cashing a check at my bank. Hopefully its less of a big deal to cash a Western Union check than the foreign check I got a few months ago.

This is really becoming a pain.

That is a great idea. Then I can leave my bank out of this. I think some of the western union choices are check cashing businesses. Maybe I'll go that route.

do moneygram at Walmart next time. Ask for a Moneygram withdrawl. Less attention.
