Westminster Dog Show...Anyone watching?

I've watched this a couple times over the years, just wondered if any other dog lovers are interested in all the different type breeds there are? Finals and Best In Show were last night and tonight on USA network

I like seeing most of the breeds, but I get bored with it overall. I like the hunting (maybe wrong name) group.

But I'm all about the mutt rescues.

We have a mutt mix ourselves and I am all about the rescues. She is half Pit and half American Staffordshire, and would rather lick you to death than hurt you :mj07:

I like the dog show, I will have to check it out tonight

I have a pure bred cocker spaniel, in fact he is wet from our walk tonight and he smells

our next dog will be from the pound

both my boys are rescues

first one is a Mini Schnauzer and was Hurricane Katrina survivor

year later went and got him a buddy, he is 1/2 Schnauzer and 1/2 terrier

I watch it sometimes, but usually just the sporting dogs.

I think rescue operations are great too. :mj06: u always have to keep in mind, however, that the dog could have been through sheer torture before you get it. Our dog has been with the family 2 years now, and she still tucks her tail and crawls away if you move too fast or raise your voice. She must have been pretty brutalized! I can't stand people that treat dogs in a bad way.

What I don't like about the show is the elitist nature of the judging. That's also one thing that leads to mistreated/abandoned dogs which neccessitates rescue groups.
