I really want to pick Rory to win again. Kid is just playing lights out in 2012. No reason he couldn't have one of those years like Tiger had when he was that age...

Tiger WILL win this tournament mark my words. Put something on him boys! He's ready! He is not going to let Rory take over #1 that easy. Lets make some $$ like the old days!!

Round 1 play (2pts):

David Toms to beat Mark Wilson +110 @ 5Dimes
Opposed Wilson on Sunday as I thought that fatigue would be a factor and will do so again today. To have played six rounds in the WGC matchplay event two weeks was physically and emotionally very tiring, so it was presumably only as a former winner of the Honda Classic that he played last week. In terms of this event alone, Toms has only played twice since it became a WGC event, but he finished in the top-5 in each of the last three years that Doral was the venue for a regular PGA Tour event (2004-06); Wilson has a best finish of 12th (back in 2003) in four previous appearances at this venue. In terms of their events in Florida, Toms has finished ahead of Wilson in each of their three common events here last year and in six of their last seven common events in Florida. Toms' form has been good - 6th in his last strokeplay event - so I don't believe he should be at plus odds even without the Wilson fatigue factor.

Round 2 play (4pts):

Tiger Woods to beat Charl Schwartzel -125 @ Paddy Power [also available @ Boyle Sports]
In the blustery conditions of the first round, Woods was far better from tee-to-green, but Schwartzel simply recovered better around the greens: scrambling successfully in nine out of ten occasions. The conditions are forecast to be better today and I expect that Woods will fare much better. Despite clear difficulties on the greens with his game, he showed very good form on Sunday to finish 2nd and is a three-time winner here (and never finished outside the top-10). In calmer conditions, he really should beat Schwartzel far more often than these odds suggest.

[unofficial rd2 system plays: Woods tb Watney -120; Johnson Z tb Dufner -120; Jacobson tb Laird -110; Watson tb Baddeley -120; Rose tb Hanson -120]
