This tournament is my second favorite sporting event and i have been watching for forty years and all i can say is wow...Great coaching , poor coaching , and unbelievable excitement ....That being said how in the hell do you pick a winner? N Iowa ML down the shitter among a few others not quite that bad...This tournament has vegas licking their chops when Joe public gets to pick 32 teams in four days...That being said what a great start...GL Madjackers...

Ej, my favorite Tourney ever was in '83 when NC State won it over Phi Slamma Jamma! Lots of buzzer finishes and dogs winning out right. And of course the famous alley oops to Lorenzo Charles from Derek Whittenberg !

This tourney ranks right up there with them all.

I am not a fan however of adding 4 games in, 8 teams to make it 68 team event and #11 seed play in is hog wash.

But I love this time of year too!!

Good stuff maynard!

Well they said that you don't choose golf that golf chooses you...I have been in love with golf since i was a kid and no i didn't play with wooden shafts but i started with small persimmon heads....lol

My favorite is "The Masters"...I have such great memories of such a great sporting event...Arnie, Jack, Sevie, Venturi and like they say"There's nothing like the back nine on Sunday"...But hell i'm ole school....hehe

Have to agree with EJ. As a hard core UNI fan last night was tough as anything I have ever watched. :0corn But, today is another day.

The Masters and the British Open are my other favorites. I have been to the Masters and the weekend drama is pretty hard to match. The roars thru the pines will make your neck hairs stand. In hoops, it comes down to seconds and team play. In golf, it's individual and comes down to the final day. I have seen the good and bad. It's the nature of sports and competition

I have also prayed for a mid major champion. Thought Butler would do it a few years ago. Same with the Shockers. It will happen ? I probably just won't be around to see it. There is just so much luck of the draw and timing in it all. I know McDermott and Jacobsen have brought a fever to UNI fans and the Missouri Valley Conference over the years that is something to see.

NCAA Hoops is special. You watch all these games and the "one and done" variable is what makes it special. You have 2 teams battling in season and there is no "big" consequence for the winner or loser.
