i think the weasel is still alive. hiding out somewhere, pulling a few strings on his puppets yet. I do not think his voice carries the same power when speaking to the masses in-country however. The problem lies in the smaller out of touch factions pulling terrorist jobs in an effort to impress bin laden and get him to take notice of their efforts and praise them as dedicated warriors.

Cant comment on what the US will do next tho.
