I have not been able to catch the full story on what happened to cause Chuckie to leave the show. This show was awesome...a perfect blend of two sides to every situation, tough, raw emotion, incredibly funny humor, and two guys who could bash each other but respected each other. I have never heard a better sports talk radio show.

I'm guessing he got a "better" (re: money) gig? Thanks for any info on this.

What????????????
Booms left the show. He was the only reason that i listened to the show. I have not had time to listen all this week. Chuckie's keys to the game were fun to listen too. I hope he is only on vacation and comes back soon!!!!!!!!!!

go to fox website to find out more information. If you scroll down you will see a area for fox sports radio. Then search for the kiley and booms show link. There is a message board loaded with stuff about booms firing. Hope this helps. Sucks  that he is gone.

On the course!
I only recently heard about this show. I would catch it on my drive home from work at 2 central.

I thought the two of them were asses. They constantly talked over each other, and it was like two drunk friends in a bar, bitching.

I even had a fun time listening to other stations, and turning back to their show........I knew within ten seconds, one of them would interupt the other. It was shitty radio, if you ask me.

I had no idea one of them left, I though he was on vacation, or something. The new guy fits the same bill, from what I see.

Yesterday, they talked about Al Michaels refering to gambling with his comments about the 'over', and that caused a heated debate, and name calling.

Not, much going for these guys.

I'd agree with you, yyz. These guys do their show from the DC area (or at least used to) and aren't even carried on a station locally anymore. They were horrible in the brief time they were on.

Actually, Kiley does his part of the show from DC, and Booms from Cleveland.

I know it sounds like they are sitting on each others lap, but it's not so.

Also, Booms seems pretty bitter about Kiley, so there is no love lost on his side.

To each their own. I enjoyed the banter and sides taking. Not a lot of that in today's corporately controlled vanilla sports talk radio world, I don't think. The interruptions were a bit tiring, I'll admit that. And, humor is a tough thing to measure for individuals. One mans laugh is another mans channel change.

Thanks for the info, fellas.

from the Cleveland Plain Dealer web-site:

Euclid native Chuck Booms, co-host of a popular national radio sports talk show with Kevin Kiley, has been dumped from the program. Booms' contract was not renewed by Fox Sports Radio, and Booms accuses Kiley (who was re-signed) of backstabbing him. "I'll never speak to Kevin Kiley again," Booms says. "He didn't speak up for me when it counted. It's disloyalty at its worst." Since its debut two years ago, the Kiley and Booms program had become Fox Sports Radio's most popular show. Locally, it was heard afternoons on Akron station WTOU AM/1350. Booms had been making an estimated $300,000 a year for the radio gig.

Although at times the show was sophomoric at best, I really enjoyed the show. Booms departure will surely cause the ratings to tank. It was always a pleasant departure from Jim Rome patting himself on the back day after day for his "unbelievable" interviews.
