My Ekornes stressless recliner broke after 15 years of a lot of use. Metal might can be welded and repaired but I thought I would shop for a new one. Tried out the lazy boy chairs yesterday . Anyone have advice on a comfortable chair ?

Yes. Repair the one you have. I wish I had done that. an upholstey shop can do it.

I wouldn't get the motorized ones either. They won't last 15 years. I like 'em, but you know what's going to happen.

I may drive up to High Point and check out some storerooms. Tried the zero gravity chair yesterday at Healthy Back store. Liked it better than the lazy boy.

My lazy boy spit the bit few months back. Rivot or something similiar broke. LZ boy has lifetime guarantee or warranty but just on parts-not labor. I was considering strongly on fixing it- as it had become part of family during the years (bought in 1998).

However---wife thought she would surprise me and buy me new chair--in fact bought 2 for one on sale at Ashley Furniture. I didn't have the heart to send them back.

After preaching to her about being "thrifty' I didn't know how to explain to her --with the exception of chair you sit in every day. :)

I cetainly liked the LZ Boy.

Check out Lane. They make a heavy duty oversized recliner that is super comfortable. I have 3 of them now. When company comes over, they all coment on how comfortable they are. And you wont break them.

I've always been partial to the Spinemelter series.
