Mimicking the ESPN poll today, I wanted to see how the MJers felt how, "What should be done to help stop fan attacks in baseball?"

I, for one, think that stop beer sales in the third inning would be a really bad move. I think the ticket sales would go down by at least 50% if there were not beer sales. Think of how much revenue every team would lose if they could only sell 1 beer to the majority of its patrons. Some people could knock out a couple in three innings, but the maority of people would be limited to 1.

I vote to clone Randy Johnson 15 times.....and station the Randy's at each ballpark........free to throw fastballs at the head of anyone coming on the field

Just let it continue. Who gives a shit?

It'll stop when a couple more of them get their stupid heads bloodied.

They should sell beer till the end of the game too. Who's running baseball anyway, Andrew J. Volstead?

[sweet Volstead joke, Shrimp. :Yep: :Yep: :Yep: ]

I think that everybody should have to sign a form as they enter the ballpark stating that they do not intend to run onto the field. That way, if they do it, they can count on a perjury charge as well as any other charges.

Use you head, sixfive. Think beyond airport security harrassing your precious granny, for just a second. My idea would likely put an end to people running onto the field. I haven't seen anything better. I mean, stopping beer sales in the third inning? Come on man!!!!!!

Petey what are you a lawyer ? Do you realize how long it would take to have everyone sign something entering the ballpark ?

Hey maybe we could get each one notorized during the seventh inning stretch.

It may work however.

There would be no time to drink any beer as the ballgame would be over before the crowd even got in.

Here is idea :

If they go on the field they are arrested and serve a mandatory one year jail sentence.

Yeh that should keep just about anyone off the field.

Hey Petey when is your contest running again ? and where is it ?

...that's the most retarded thing I've ever heard, but I suppose I should take the source into account.

Peety, Peety, Peety....This would be easier....How about a notice on all tickets (like on Cigs)...SURGEON GENERAL'S WARNING: Entering the field on play may result in injury. Persons that enter the field of play are Tresspassing and will be fined up to one year in prision.

With the fear involved in everyday live (terrorists, etc) this problem should be delt with harshly and the pentality should be well-known.

Lots of BS flowing today. :D :D As for field runners. Lets think this thru. If it's some dam fools like the other day. Well of course 6 months in jail should work. But hey if it's some wonderfull MOJO. Well that should be allowed. And if there real good at it and where the right stuff. Well they should even get 10 or 15 bucks for being so clever.

If the Home team is losing in the seventh inning, a big-bottomed female should be escorted onto the field where from all four bases she should be required to moon the home town fans.

:moon: (first)

:moon: (second)

:moon: (third)

:moon: (home)

pp, if you have any interest, perjury consists of making a false statement under oath. administering an oath to several thousand attendees every night might be a little problematic, in addition to reducing the gate. also, to convict you would need to be able to prove that the person knew he would violate his sworn promise at the time he made it, an almost impossible burden. that's why most perjury prosecutions involve a person making contradictory statements under oath.
