Does anyone really win at sportbetting??? I got online about 5 yrs ago and I have read many very smart peoples opinions on games and strategies, but to tell you the truth............when people are honest about their records over a long period of time.(Services, posters etc)...I just dont see people winning consistently. Maybe I am wrong, I am not trying to be skeptical but I have seen many good handicappers suffering disastrious results. It just makes me wonder If they cant do it, why should I think that I have any chance at it. Now before the internet.........I would always think that there is someone, somewhere out there that is successful at this game but after using the internet for the last 5 yrs and seeing who everyone is playing here and there, I just dont see consistent winners, including myself. Maybe the hardest thing for me to admit is that alot of these opinions are coming from some very smart people..............but are we really that smart playing a game that is so hard to win at???????

I am sure there are plenty of winners.

Look at Jacks free play page. If Jack played these and only these then since the start of the baseball season last year he's made big $.

In the golf forum, Stanley and others have made consistant profits.

Crookycymru has won on Rugby with his plays and myself, I've won over 60 points and thats now over 300 points in 29 months.

There's just a few for you, and there will be plenty more.

The plays I post are the plays I bet, to the stake I suggest, no more, no less.

We have all been told here from some very smart people. Im not incuding myself.:) You have 5/6% winners. With great money mangement it goes up a little 6/7%. Vegas all tho clever about it know's this but does not run around telling the world. We are under the impression someone has to win. Like the lottery you say little or no chance but you buy a ticket anyway. Someone wins don't they. ;) We must face it for many reason other then winning lots of money we do this. But we keep trying. Our emotions when we drop 6 or 7 in a row of how the hell can I do that. To when you hit 7 in a row and think your a winner. Well that fealing is one reason. But we are still out the juice so we did not win yet. Some times out gambling leads us to success in other areas. Jack has this fine site. We have had at least 4 or 5 guys who started capping business. We have a couple who started other sites. It is funny how we are always out to even that score. I have done this a long time. Maybe longer then anyone else here. I cant say where im at because when first starting. Never herd of money management. Picked that up about 1970. I feal im out no more then one new car. Thats about 22/23 grand over 36/37 years. So for fun and the risk of being right. It's cost me about $550 a year. Not complaining. I don't complain about my taxes either. If I can give $550 away for this. Well they can have another $550 for me to live in the greatest place I believe there is. ;) Ok whats the next hot game I have to get to the window fast. ;)

you hit the nail on the head there...
my sentiments exactly....

i LOVE the challenge of capping...trying to find winners....

keeps my brain functioning at a somewhat higher level....

and until i get that high school teaching position, using my brain for cappin is what gets me through the day.

LOVE IT.

DJV, you say "We have all been told here from some very smart people. Im not incuding myself. You have 5/6% winners. With great money mangement it goes up a little 6/7%".

I don't see how this is.

Since I joined MJ's in September I have hit 45% in Cricket, 70% in Tennis, 31% in Football. Even in USA sport I am hitting over 50%.

My R.O.I. (return on investment) is 132% which is well above the norm that anyone would expect.

So the quote of 5/6 % winners is clearly in accurate and un-founded.

Does not make me wrong. It just means your one of the 5 or 6% of all gamblers that is a winner at this time. Not to worry you play enough you will give your self a chance to fall in to the 94% loss colum. Just thing if you were not hitting 70% in Tennis the hit you might take. Hey I had heck of a Motor Sport season last year. But all other sports brought be down to a over all 55%. So I had a up year. Now my record keeping starts over for this year. I may not be so lucky.

I've said this before, but I'll say it again...

The House has something we want and they don't want us to take it.

They are very good at protecting their interests.

They've been at this business a long time and have every possible resource at their disposal.

To make money at this endeavor, you need to be savvy, sharp and have the ability to spot an opportunity when it presents itself.

You need to have a thorough understanding of money management, handicapping and betting strategies.

If you just like the action, want to "talk the talk", make a bet or have an opinion on every game on the card, then you can have your fun but it will cost you.

You can't blame the House if you're not well prepared because I can guarantee you..... they are.

Here's a challenge for you....

In college basketball, there are 22 "lined" conferences comprised of 230 teams.

Vegas not only sets a line on every one of these games every single day, they also set a first half line, a second half line and for tv games, they give you a projected total.

They give you plenty to choose from.

Do you know what you're looking for?

Why?

If you can answer those two questions, you probably stand a chance.

At the end of the football season - I get a check bigger then what I initially deposited. But then again - I only play what I know best(MAC).

Sorry, I miss read what you said.

Thank you for re-wording. When I read it again I can see what you said or meant to say.

I play the F1 markets, not as much as I used to because with all the in house politics, you just dont know whose going to let who through these days.

Never really looked at American motor sport. I will watch for your plays this year and possibly coat tail. Hope you win $$ like last year.

Best of luck

If you go over above posts it will point to what I have said for years. There is "consistant" money to be made in minority sports if one can just curb the urge on primary sports. Taking in some of those mentioned above I know some cappers here that have "never" had losing season in Tennis,Cars and Golf in past 4 years I have tracked them. Its not been a matter of if,but how much. I know boring!! Admittedly I have failed capitalize on coat tailing several of these sports as well just because I do not think about them and do not watch or have interest in them.

Mr bulldog Im not that good myself at motor sports. I do ok in Nascar. But I watch a few of the others and play there plays to. For F1, I have followed 1837 and he is just great.
DTB you are so right. Like Stanley in Golf. I need to pay more of his plays he is very strong in that sport. Stanley will give his ideas on F1 also, not all the time but pay attention to what he has.
Yes DTB last year Nascar +7 units. Tennis +4 units F1+29. Golf +3
FB both NFL/NCAAFB -3 NBA -7 NCAABB +3. BaseBall -7
DTB My year shows just the point you made.
Major Sports -14
Other + 43
For year +29
And I think I have agood handle on NFL/NCAAFB. Not one of by better years with them. So other sports saved the day.
