Christianity does not see the sinner as the devil. However, it realizes the devil has caused the person to commit the sin. Christianity loves the sinner but hates the sin.
Our enemy sees the sinner as the devil and is intent to kill and destroy this foe. I believe it sees all non muslims as the devil.
One crusade is united under the concept of love. The other is united under the concept of hate.
It's far easier to hate than it is to love.
