I'm kinda wondering why everything came to a standstill when 9/11 happened and life goes on as normal (at least for the unaffected) after Katrina. After 9/11, all major sports shut it down for awhile. After Katrina, the only sporting events to not play were because of rainouts. In my opinion the devastation and loss of life is going to prove to be way higher in this instance than it was in 9/11. I'm not trying to downplay 9/11, it was also a terrible tragedy but I guess I don't see the differnce. One was terrorism, one was a natural disaster but I think a whole lot more people were affected this time around.

On the course!
Because with 9/11 we didn't know if we were going to keep getting attacked.

Slight difference between a natural disaster, and a threat of war on your homeland.
