What's the largest college (ncaa) football line you can remember?

Was there ever a college football line that got near 70 points? I swear Florida had some lines close to that if my memory serves me right.

Above the Clouds....
I had an O/U at 73 or so years ago. Seems like it was A&M. Couple of shoot out teams. I went over and it covered. Those games are tough and i stay away now!

Biggest line I've ever seen since I started betting football in 1998 was Florida -57 against Louisiana-Monroe in 2001.

OU was, if I recall correctly, -55 against Baylor in 2003, coming the week after the 77-0 drubbing of A+M.

Klingler's Houston versus 1st year on the Death Penalty SMU was over 70. Houston covered

I'm proud to say I had SMU in a 3team tease that day getting (I believe) over 80 points and still lost!
And by more than a TD................and if memory serves me I think SMU kicked a FG early, but that was many bourbons ago............

It was indeed the first year of the Death Penalty for SMU against Houston, but it wasn't Klingler.....it was 1989 and it was Heisman winner Andre Ware who torched SMU to the tune of 517 yards passing.....in the FIRST HALF!!! :scared Houston won the game 95-21 and wound up with 1,021 yards of total offense. :mj07:

this came up last year or the year before. I think Washington State was a 70+ point favorite over UL Monroe one year.

found that old thread...

found what I was looking for. It was Louisiana Lafayette vs Washington State on 11-08-1997. Wash State won 77-7. I was remembering the final score, not the spread. It was -46 for this game.

in that same year, I found Akron as a 56 point dog to Nebraska.

sportsaholic posted this...I had SMU when they were on the death pen. in football way back, line was over +70 against Houston back when they were throwing the ball every play. So being the savy bettor I was at the time I played them on a 3 team tease getiing over 80.......SMU drove the field got a field to go up 3-0 feeling good...........Houston proceeded to toss 90+ on them the rest of the way

I think this is the game, but it wasn't an 80 point loss...

Spread out: Sometimes college football betting odds are not posted because of key injuries. On rare occasions, they're not posted because the game is simply seen as too big a mismatch.

Such a mismatch exists this week, but Oklahoma vs. Baylor still made the betting board. The unanimous No. 1 Sooners are 53-point favorites at home.

In 1987, Oklahoma was a 57-point favorite against Kansas State, a game the Sooners won 59-10 in Manhattan.

The largest betting line in college football is believed to have come in October of 1989, when Houston was a 581/2-point favorite at home against SMU.

The Mustangs, coached by Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer Forrest Gregg, were coming off the NCAA death penalty and a two-year hiatus from the sport. They had 74 freshmen, 17 of whom were starters, on their 92-man roster. The remaining players were walk-ons.

The Cougars, coached by Jack Pardee, who was a longtime friend of Gregg's, led the nation in total offense thanks to the run-and-shoot offense and Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware.

Houston covered the point spread easily, winning 95-21 and amassing 1,021 yards of offense. Ware was 25- of-41 passing for 517 yards and six touchdowns -- all in the first half.
