Are the corporations ruinning the Vegas experience for gamblers?
I just returned from 5 nights at Bally's. I've stayed there since it was the MGM and have preferred the VIP treatment and atmosphere, with lots of high stakes (100$ and up minimum).
They have remodeled with mostly $10 tables/single deck and six-deck shoes with BJacks paying 6/5.
Only two tables with $25 minimums were available, period. They are catering to a different crowd, it seams.
The comps that use to be offered freely, i.e., meals, spa, etc., are now based on your points that you accumulate and will be reviewed at the time of check-out.
After negotiating, they picked up my rooms,,this used to be a given,,but that was all!
I was fairly calm, but filled out a survey card to say that I'll never stay there again. I just prefer the old way.
My question is,,what is the nicest place that still will come up to you and ask if you would like a nice meal, spa, etc., and not play "wait and see" at the time of check out?
I really would like to know where to get set-up for next time.
Thanks for any help or comments on this.
But, I would like to say STAY AWAY FROM BALLY'S.
Unless you like to see lots of baby strollers.

There are virtually no places like this now, unless you stick strictly to the Salon Prive or the London Club at Aladin. None of them will go out of their way to ask you if you want something in my experience.

I still stay at Paris and Ballys as long as the rooms are free, but the 6:5 blackjack shit really REALLY gets on my nerves. Its such a sucker come-on that I feel real bad for the people playing it, but at the same time it gets on my nerves.

One long-time dealer I had offered his opinion on my issues. He said with corporations running it, they had "gender, race, etc. issues about fairness and potential lawsuits.
But, the other really made some sense,,,he said many of the corp. execs that are making decisions are indeed women and they are thinking totally different about everything.
Also, not one dealer or pit-boss was friendly and when I started a discussion about how this place is operated, they all were very unhappy with it.
It sure shows in their personalities, or lack of.
I agree with the 6/5, but if they all go this way, they'll pull it off.

For those that are interested,,the Horseshoe in Tunica, Ms. still caters to the gamblers. I think Jack Binion still is the sole owner, so that might explain this.
But, they have plenty of good service, wonderful rooms and liberal comps.

only 6/5 at the mega resorts on the strip that could care less about your ass. the aladdin as was stated will take care of you. your best bet but everyone wants the strip is green vally rach or sunset station ,both owend by the same green vally ranch will match up with a strip resort lots of stars and higher end players stay there and they take care of you. sunset is only 7 miles from strip green vally ranch 4.5 miles just hope on express way and your there why pay out the ass to be a number when you can have great tratment at a much better price and still have 4* dinning and nice rooms and suites are very nice. and they will call you by your name and you will have your own host that will say hi and know who you are and comp you at 25-50 a hand even at 5 bucks a hand with a good amount of play 4-5 hours at a time they will do things for you maybe not the whole trip but either room or dinner through-out your stay.

it's easy to drive to strip don't understand why people waste their money after first time out here. i can see your first trip you want to stay on strip but after that your just a sucker to them unless you are dropping big cash down. and sunset and green vally ranch are in the upscale part of the county lot better then the strip area. get it through your head people the strip does not give a rats ass about you. you want great treatment and a very enjoyable stay follow what i say and you will thank me.

bally's sucks with there comps as most strip resorts aladdin and rio are good but after that have a suit case of money if you want something , and yes its the tight ass corp people that cause this.

hope next time you get better treatment if you go to where i said i know for a fact they will make you feel special.

I was out in Vegas last April for a bachelor party and stayed at the Hard Rock. The bachelor stayed in a $600/night suite, comped. We ran up a $625 bar tab at the pool on Friday (there were 22 of us), comped. Everyone of us got some sort of comp during the trip whether it was food or discounted rooms. None of us were real big players, but we did spend a lot of time at the tables. The scenery wasn't bad either.

The Rio gets my vote. Been staying there for the past six years and love the service and they are very personable usually when you play late at night. Get room comped every time although you still have to wait till the end of your stay so they can see how much you play and whenever I ask I get a meal comped for me and my wife and she doesn't even play.

The Bellagio still comps my trip and room and entertainment no questions asked..........that is where I always stay, and have stayed and absolutely love it........but it does cost me a pretty line of $$$$ that I have to list with them, but thats not out of the ordinary..........so i dunno about the others:shrug:

Thanks guys,
I will take Fletcher's advice and move off the strip. I'm not all attracted to that anymore anyway,,I'm more into a good atmosphere where I have a chance to win some money.

I will continue to stay at Ballys/Paris as long as they are comping rooms, however as long as the games continue to worsen, I will move elsewhere.

I actually have liked Aladdin in the past maybe I will move over there.
