With 1st inning plays gettin hammered(sorry) I want to getaway before my account is zeroed, this method of choice doesn't have enough starts yet from each pitcher starting for me to totally use the "capping" style I use to play whole games, but with the info I did have the numbers say to play on

Pittsburgh
Marlins

And 2 games that didn't have starters lastnight when I did the work..so I'll try them later...just wanted a little feel for how YOU look at these games today, again my teams choosen were strictly from number---better offense better defense---starting pitching and how each team does on the road or at home depending on where they are playing.

boston, ma
both of the starters for those teams got lit up early their last outing. Recently had a mild debate over which starter was better (from a fantasy standpoint---which stats usually translate into wins) DUke was really solid, though gave up 6ER in 6 innings 3 in the first inning last time out at home vs ATL

Z. Duke (L, 2-1) 6.0 12H 6R 6ER 0 2K 1HR -NO WALKS

Volstad didnt venture much betterin a 4hit 1 walk, 1 wild pitch 2 run first inning--though he settled down nicely after that--and the bats picked him up (against another starter that i believe has chance to win with a good line to boot in Cabrera for wash vs NYM Pelfrey)

C. Volstad (ND) 4.1 6H 3R 3ER 5BB 5K 0HR

Fantasy wise the pitchers seem like 1 and 1a. Fla has better bats and the their 'pens IMO are a wash. Both of their closers were responsible for teams losses last night--as Lindsrtrom BLEW UP...which is kinda expected for most any middle range closer nowadays. Though aside from him, Fla's pen should be rested as JJohnson put in a great outing up to point of closing out.

Volsatd seem like more of strkeout puitcher when compared to Duke--Though Zach is plenty more seasonsed--and has better control. Both teams have bats that seem streaky, in they score runs in bunches (more pitt than fla)--not sure if you were thinking of 1st inn plays, but it is my strong opinion that you at least go1-1 with these sides. Duke should give you a sloid 7+...and volstad has work cutout for him(trying to keep PHI bats down 2 straight game--sans volstad that is)--though will keep team in for bats to show up. Obvioulsy their closers prolly wont be available... so it wouldnt setup like a textbook finish on any of the four sides PHI, FLA, SD or PITT... i dont have much on their oppositions pitchers--as they really dont have fantasy value--so havent fiollowed yet--though in glancing Hill looks decent--though its early.

Phi with chan ho you would figure FLA keeps with the trend of PHI giving up at least 1 hr a game.

not sure if this helps you--but there are some thoughts...

OK, this came out 1-1 with Fla imploding in the late innings to Philly, otherwise Pitts was a walk away win. Ill keep the idea rolling of better offense and better defense.

Pittsburgh
Angels

These are both road teams so becareful, I would love to have the numbers and homefield in my advantage but just the numbers this time

1-1 today
2-2 YTD
with the system having all road teams quailfy this far, will begin to track: road dogs/road favs/home favs/home dogs from here out to hopefully find a trend or angle that stands out.

1-0 road fav
0-1 road dog
0-0 home fav
0-0 home dog

(I don't have day 1 lines so 2 games untracked going 1-1)

BTW thx tball you had good and dead on accurate analysis there:SIB I didnt realize I didnt respond until re-reading the thread. Ignorance was not meant.

Today there's early and late sets I've finished the early ones and will get to the late ones once I run some errands. Al few games come very close but didnt make the cut.
