2005 Season Record 32-28 +18.32 units
2004 Season Record 35-43 -7.90 units
2003 Season Record 55-44 +18.37 units
Opening day for the WORLD CHAMPS!!
Sox attempted to take care of a lot of needs over the offseason to make sure that the pitching doesn't have to do all of the heavy lifting this year, but the addition of Thome and some backups doesn't make me feel any better about losing the defense that Rowand gave last year (not so much later in the year, but in May and June - when the won the pennant). I just expected the focus to be more on speed and defense and less on an aging fat ass with a bad back.
Judging from the preseason rags, White Sox seem to be a bit over-rated, but the first line of the season, They appear to be a where they should be, so we'll see how it plays out. Should be some value going against the ChiSox early as Pods is gimpy and even when he gets on, Iguchi's slumping, and Thome's back isn't going to feel right until May.
Kind of pointless to discuss a game that's not likely to be played, but I'll try.
Hard for me to see this going over on a usual April night, but with 25 mph winds expecting heading Southwest, it just takes 2-3 long fly balls to send this over
but there's no way I'm taking Sabathia and Buerhle over the way they've pitched historically against their counterparts tonight.
Going to be like everyone else and take the Tribe as their "team" is in better shape right now, so we'll give the opener to Cleveland but will always have this as a pleasant memory from the last Cleveland series last year.
Sabathia +113 1 unit
and taking the team up north (the one that actually plays grinder ball) to win the Central for 2.5 units (+423). Go Twinks!!
