It's hard for me to get pissed off at the Sox as my handicapping has been just as bad as their playing as of late. There still isn't any fire in this team even as they slid to 5 back yesterday. They're not hitting, they're pitching is below average, and they're giving extra outs due to shoddy fielding. But the team seems to think that since they still have 19 games left with the Twins, that they still are going to the playoffs.
With Alomar, Lofton, and maybe Ordonez out of the lineup due to injury and Frank on the bench due to playing in a national league park, you would think that the reserves could be called on to rally around the team and get a victory, but the comments that they have after the game show that they're not all that concerned with the team's slide. Plus, Ritchie will get the start, so the Sox bats will have to be on early to make this a game.
Hate to lay this price with any team, let alone the Cubs, but can't see anything but a Cubs sweep today.
