If I had a nickel for every time I talked about how the Twinks would get their head handed to them when their schedule got tough. And they?ve only won every series against the vaunted White Sox, Red Sox and Angels over the past week. C?mon A?s!!!
That was a team last night that straight out gave up against a pitcher and a bullpen are fairly susceptible to 9-run outbursts by the opposing pitchers. Hard to back them tonight, but management has not given up on this season and I don?t suspect that the players have either. They need to make ground on Minnesota and it has to start soon, but the way their bats gave in last night, I can?t back them here, and they?re facing a rook who they?ve never seen, which is always been a problem. The under depends on Garland who has a way of folding against the weaker teams of the league, but with so much riding on every game here on out, I?m hoping . . . nay, praying that he will begin to show some signs of maturity and take some notice that Contreras has already been penciled in as the teams third starter for next year.
