I have to think, the guy who did not take a day off has to be the winner. 3 catches 26 yards. 18 od which came against the prevent D.

Everyone continues to try a bring a new guy up to challenge White, and they all fizzle out. I beleive that tonight proved who the best player is.

40 TDs 6 INT. 12-0.

Not to mention, White touches the ball every time OU snaps the ball on offense while Fitz touches the ball 5-15 plays a game.

OU's record is the same if Paul Thompson is the QB so I have a hard time giving WHite the award. He is perhaps the MVP, and has had a great year and deserves all the praise anyone wants to give him, but that isnt the award - it is for the Most Outstanding player - and I just dont think it's him. Heck, there are some guys on the OU defense I would give it to first.

maybe you answered your own question.....bob stoops.......this guy is slowly becoming one of the most dominant college football minds ever..........

i know white is a fine college qb....and deserves the heisman(imo).....but i get the feeling that if white wasn`t there, stoops would be damned successful with whomever the second stringer is......

but, that said, you don`t penalize a guy for being tremendous in a great system...you can`t extrapolate that white doesn`t deserve it just because he plays in a fantastic system...

white deserves it....second goes to chris perry....3rd to fitzgerald....personally,i think there are several receivers in college foots that are on a par with fitzgerald...

the consecutive td record gets alot of press...much like ripken`s consecutive games record...but,ripken was just an above average player for a good part of his career...not a great, great player...

stoops????

the guy is good....very,very good....nfl,here we come...

always gonna be tough for a wr to win the heisman

peter warrick was just as valuable as larry fitzgerald and also returned punts. he didnt win it and noles were lights out that year. fitzgerald has no shot, regardless of the result tonight

honestly, theres nobody that really stands out.

even though im hardly an eli manning fan, if ole miss would have won that lsu game, i would have said he deserved it. not now though.

who knows, lol?

Only 3 players who were primarily WR's won the heisman...can you name them?

(After 2 nites game vs Miami, I have to change from Fitzgerald to Perry)

now that you mention it

isn`t it amazing how many heisman trophy winners have been pro busts.......

i think one that shocked me was johnny rodgers........the guy had amazing moves....just never panned out, although there may have been extenuating circumstances....i can`t remember.....

I'd give it to Eli as he did what he did without the talent that White had around him. Stoops could have taken almost any qb & make him work in that system.

I think that system argument is BS. Look at OU's offense last year. It was slightly above average. We lost two games. In addition, that offense lost the best RB in Quentin Griffin and four wide receivers. Now in comes White with new RB's and new WR's and he throws 40 TD's and has only 6 INT.

The system was the same last year with Nate Hybl (now with the Browns) and that offense was no where near as productive. The facts are the offense can be attributed to Jason White. Not the system.

He can't do it alone, no can really. You can't argue that he has better players to make him look good compared to an Eli Manning or Fitzgerald.

Insert fork in east coast media Heisman darling!
Yep. No five nine d backs tonight. One word, EXPOSED. Sure, he is better than Mike Williams.:nono: Who has ever shut down Mike Williams? No one! Man I hate those east coast pieces of crap. I told you that the only fair comparison was Colbert (USC 2nd string WR) and he would push Fitzgerald for playing time. Put a fork in LSU as well :D What a great day.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh come on already. M Williams has talent & there is no arguing that but look at what conference he plays in. WR's easily put up #'s in that conference since it is so weak defensively.

You should give some credit to Miami's defense. Height wise or not that whole defense is one of the best in the country. You can't argue that LF put up good #'s against better defenses.

Larry Fitzgerald is a great WR, but Mike Williams is better in my opininion. Mike Williams cannot be shut down. NOBODY can cover Mike Williams. Let me give you example, last year USC played @KSU "early" in the year. Mike Williams was a only a freshman playing in that real hostile environment going against TERRY NEWSOME! Mike Williams got open almost every play, and Palmer hit him in the chest every single pass. The Problem? Williams had his worst game of his life and dropped something like 6 passes. Williams has an article about that talking about how he dropped so many passes hanging in his dormroom to this day.

Since then, Williams does not drop many passes at all so he def. got over that. Where did Newsome get drafted? Is he playing well as rookie for Dallas?

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

A good matchup would be USC's WR against Miami's secondary. Miami is used to playing top quality wr's year in & year out especially with Florida State on their schedule & Florida the last couple of seasons. I think they could do a good job & stop the Trojans passing game.

I will take OU's secondary vs. USC's WR on Jan. 4. Ou will essentially shut them down, just like they did Roy Williams and Rashaun Woods this year.

It was Terrance Newman for KState, not Terry Newsome. He starts at corner and makes some plays, but has also been burned from time to time. He's got a real good head on his shoulders and looks like he has a bright future.

Scott as much as you toot on your USC horn i would think that you could make a strong case for yourself to win the award. As much bullshit as you post on here you may be able to sway some of the Voters to vote for your sorry ass.

Personally, i wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire

BOB,

I would have to argue that the only thing that shut down Texas' wideouts in that game was Vincent Young/Chance Mock. They are horrible ijn the passing game, that is why Roy and BJ have had quiet seasons.

My Heisman pick: Eli Manning. He is the best college football player in the nation. I am not saying he will be able to edge out Jason white(though it will be a lot closer than people think), but he will get his heisman on draft day in April as the #1 pick in the draft.

If you take Jason White away from Oklahoma they will still win games he doesnt deserve the heisman a player like fitzgerald who is the main reason pittsburg is on the map deserves the award.
