I agree smash Duke has no chance, unless they hit every three in every game they need a big guy in middle. I like Pitt for this reason, two big boys in middle helps in tourney to pound on teams and a great point guard.

Kentucky

Kentucky is value at any price.. they are head and shoulders better than every other team right now..just can't see anyone beating them come march.

one team that i think offers GREAT value:

oregon at 70/1

when tournament time comes, they should be healthy and that price will drop on them. im not a big pac-10 guy, and ive made some good money going anti-oregon this year, but thats still a pretty damn good team when theyre healthy. to get a preseason top 10 team at 70/1 now- i just think theres a ton of value in the ducks. theyve fallen off the map and people are writing them off, but one of the most important things in the tourney every single year is strong guard play. blake and dixon last year. jason williams/duhon/dunleavy the year before. cleaves and peterson for michigan state. hell, go back to the last pac-10 team to win it in arizona and there was bibby and simon. oregon has all the talent to make a run. sure theyre soft and would be vulnerable to a physical team, but at 70/1, theyre worth a shot imo

Who presents Value?

The winner only.

more seriously:

usually dont b make these bets but would only do so with dd odds and A team with a real chance who's odds are higher now than they will be come Mid-March.

Pitt, TX, Oklahoma, Cuse (total longshot), Maryland

I saw someone post UCLA at 200-1 as good value? Send me a check and I'll book your action. 200-1 those must be the odds of them winning 1 more game. They have no chance. They need to win 9 straight come Pac-10 tourney time since that is their only chance to get in the NCAA AND in their final 6 regular season games they need to pass UW up just to qualify for the Pac-10 touney. Might as well bet them and let it ride on the money line every game if you're willing to wager on them as those 9 straight wins would bring back much more than 200-1.

hey hellah do you realize that half of the teams you suggested arent even going to make the tourney? maybe you should stick to the MAC. not trying to start a fight just pointing it out.

oregon at 70-1 looks like good value to me.

gjn23 makes the correct point....just because a team has 200-1 odds it doesn't mean they offer 'value'.

Anyone betting a flyer on teams like UCLA, USC, Western Kentucky, Miami Fla, Wyoming, etc., is pissing away money.

I think there are a couple of decent 'values' in those futures. As far as the faves go, Kentucky and Texas look ok.

Hoops 23 , thanks for the props: Learned this from my horse playing buddies at Del Mar and it applies across the board:

The only "value" is in the winning ticket!

Kentucky, Arizona, Kansas are my choices but they offer low odds right now, might as well wait until the brackets come out to see what their 6 game run looks like.

OU, TX, MD, Cuse, Pitt offer pretty good value as they should be 2 thru 4 seeds and getting dd odds not too bad.

The Big 12 is the best conference in the country this year. The conference could end up with four teams in the top ten (Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State). Therefore, I think the champion will come from the Big 12.

As far as value is concerned, gotta' love:

Mississippi State +4,000 (Veteran team with tourney experience)
Oklahoma State +10,000
Missouri +25,000 (If the Tigers get hot, watch out!)

I will probably lay some money on these three teams when I go to Vegas for the first weekend of "March Madness." Good luck!
