I thought the same thing and all I can come up with is the whole "we're a military school so we never give up" kind of attitude. Its the same thing that will have them run the ball from their own 10 to end the half and risk a fumble rather than take a knee as if that's showing weakness or something.
If they had been down 16 I could possibly understand it. But they needed 3 scores and hadn't even stopped them on the current drive. I took Navy so I liked it but I also thought it was stupid.
