this makes no sense at all..under 2 mins left in the game and the broncos up by 3..indy with no timeouts left..why pass the ball on third and whatever from about the 40 yard line..if they run the ball the clock goes down to less than 1 minute left..they punt and indy with no timeouts left has to go 50 yards to get in fg range..that was the poorest coaching decision i have ever seen..he must have bet on indy the as..ole i had denver in 5 teasers at even money and got fucccced out of all of them..how the hell do you handicap ignorance or the fix?? do you think shanahan will pay my book for me?

i gotta agree

i gotta agree

i was fortunate to have teased indy with the under, but,i think that pass was the only thing that saved indy at that point...i thought the same thing.....what struck me funny was theismann and macguire lauding shannahan for trying the pass, then later on admitting it probably cost him the game....very odd.

That was a terrible call.
It's one thing to throw it, with more than 2 minutes left, to try and get the first down to end the game. It's another thing to throw it with 1:50 left at their 40, third and 5, no timeouts left for the opposing team.

If you run, your odds of getting 5 yards are about 33%.
If you don't get the yards the clock runs to 1:03, you call timeout. (40 second clock, 7 seconds for the play). Your punt then takes 8-10 more seconds and Indy is left going 45-65 yards, no timeouts, all in 50-55 seconds. Just to kick a 50 yard field goal.
Basically you tackle them in bounds once and they have almost no shot.

Further proof that these coaches have NO CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY for 3 hours on Sundays. No idea how to manage timeouts and the clock. Hire me for 50k and I'll make every correct call for these bozos.

You think that was stupid coaching. The Cheifs were up 17-14 with a minute left in the half and were 1st and goal on the 1 yard line. For some reason Trent Green calls a timeout and then the coaches call a stupid passing play that is intercepted in the endzone. Priest Holmes was averaging nearly 10 yards a carry at he time. Green should have calmly walked up to the line of scrimage while cllock was ticking and handed it off to the Priest man who was on fire. I don't know If I have ever been more pissed off at my beloved team. Needless to say instead of having a 24-14 lead at half Chiefs were down 21-17 and SEattle got the ball back in second half with a ton of momentum. IT WAS TRULY A TRAVESTY FOR DIE HARD CHIEF FANS TO WITNESS!!

KC travesty indeed ....

KC travesty indeed ....

Especially with Denver losing KC had big chance to get back in division race with a win. Poor coaching decision by Vermeil/Saunders and then Shanahan topped that on Sunday night football. What a day for those 2 supposed genius coaches.
