the one consensus site that i check from time to time has this game dead even (303 bgsu vs. 294 northern) --- thats about as close as youll ever see a consensus.

from a capping standpoint -- i just think bg's spread offense is going to cause northern problems just like it did last year. huskies defense is weak, and if iowa state can hang 48 on 'em, thats not a good sign, because bg is more talented offensively.

that being said, northern illinois is a well-coached team that is perenially well-balanced. theyre also a solid home team. so its not going to be easy for bgsu. but in the end, i dont think niu is going to be able to get the crucial stops when they need them. one thing worth noting is that niu could not stop any of the bg receivers last year. bowling green threw for 438 yards on them ...... and every single bowling green receiver is back this year.

much appreciate gman and nyraider
like them too, only thing that scares me is how they played md, i guess they played a damn good game to keep it close on md field, even though md doesnt match up with niu well judging from the past two years
i like the over as well.

Everyone seems to be on Bowling Green so I am playing NI as a contrarian pick since usually that seems to be the way to go. Play opposite the hot pick and $$$.

this game should have far more points than it does at half. bowling green moving the ball with ease. bg also misses a FG, and niu turns the ball over on downs at the bowling green 1. 2h could very well go over. only thing that scares me is niu playing ball control.
