Can anyone here explain to me why the Pens and Bruins are starting their East Final Saturday when the Consol Energy Center has no booking Thursday and Friday night? To add to that, there is nothing booked in there except Arena Football for May and most of June, because management knew the Pens would have a deep playoff run. Its absurd......Pens will have been off 8 days and the Bruins a full week when the series starts.

Too boot......we now have both Conf. Finals going the same day and if the Hawks series goes OT, which wouldn't surprise me as these Conf. Finals are going to be tight, then we are subject to flipping back and forth between the Conf. Finals.

I don't get the scheduling at all.
Oh and the Hawks and Kings have to play back to back nights for G1 and G2, makes a ton of sense after both teams just went 7 games......

I believe they are trying to line them up so they can end closer and so there isn't a long layoff before the Finals. If the Pens/Bruins series starts earlier than the other, and one team sweeps, and the other game goes 6 or 7, you will hear much talk about a layoff. Essentially the NHL doesn't care if the layoff comes before the Conf Finals. At least that's my opinion on it.

Fair enough, but they could have started Pitt on Friday night. NBA rotates East and West each night, they could have done this as well and should have! Why have both teams go at it on Saturday, when Pitt could have went Fri and Sun. but with an earlier Sun. start......3pm........then have the Hawks Sat. and Sun. as I realize the Stones concert screws it up....but why have 5pm and 8pm on the same day is ridiculous with a strong chance of OT in the earlier game.
