when the easiest play by FAR in this game is the UNDER 158!
Kansas is thought of as an offensive powerhouse, and we are all fresh off of both teams 90+ point performances, hence the super high total of 158.
This total is way off......there is no justification for it statistically. Both teams play very good defense. Kansas will not be able to run down the floor and break the zone before it is set. I think Roy knows this. Texas tried it, and everytime that TJ sped down the floor, the zone was already set...that is why thay had to feed the ball to their best shooter, Mouton and take their chances. And if TJ couldnt penetrate, then Hinrich and Miles wont be able to either. I think that if this game is going to go over....it is going to be because both teams shoot 70+ percent from 3 point land. I will take my chances.
I am not sure if I will take a side here....and if I do, I really dont see myself giving 4.5 points. I will probably see what I can get out of a monlyline with Kansas, or I will take the points with the Cuse. I do not think that Kansas will be able to rattle these guys from Syracuse....Anthony has this cocky way about him that rubs off on his teammates, and they are playing invinsible right now.
If I were Roy....I'd get those tapes from Syracuse vs. UCONN meetings number 1 and number 2, and see what I could figure out. UCONN was the ONLY team that Syracuse had real troubles with this year. Could it be because Okafor was too much for the zone? Maybe too physical? If that is the case....then Collision may be able to win the game single handedly...he has done it before.
Right now...I am leaning toward Kansas on the money line and the under BIG. The reason for my Kansas moneyline play in simple.....senior push. Hinrich and Collison is going to be the last chance for Roy to get his championship at Kansas....as i think he is off to North Carolina next week. These guys are both seniors and know how important this game is.....and while Syracuse is talented enough to do it......they are young, and their will be better days down the road for this team.
My prediction......Kansas 74 Syracuse 71
