I had this same situation a couple weeks back, posted my plays, and ended up going 10-2... ... so I figured it's worth another shot. :SIB

"I don't often post plays around here, but I'm more or less broke this week and can't really bet on the game. Despite my lack of funds, I've been doing pretty well this season, so I thought I'd post my opinions for this week. I highly doubt anyone tails them, but perhaps someone does, and if I can't win any money on my own picks, at least there's half a chance that someone else does."

Winners

Tennessee +7 (buy the half if the line hasn't moved by tomorrow) - I honestly don't think that Indy can continue playing with fire like this and pulling a win out of their asses. As much as I trust Manning, this is the 3rd or 4th game where they seem ripe for a loss, and I think they lose their undefeated season here. A play on the ML is worth a shot IMO, but in the event that the Colts do pull this one out, I think it's by a TD at MOST, so the 7 should guarantee a push at worst.

San Diego -13' - I honestly don't think Vegas can set the line high enough on this one. The Chargers have let me down in similar spots before, but there's no denying that when they get hot, they get REALLY hot, and the Browns are downright putrid. I won't be the least bit shocked if this covered in the first quarter!

I should note at this points that I very much think it's worst turning these two picks into a pleaser. Obviously, a 6-pointer essentially just makes it a parlay with the Tennessee ML, but I'd go so far as to take a 7 or 7', as it shouldn't really effect the Titans outcome at all, and I really think SD wins by 21+. If you want to shoot for the moon here, please these with the winners below.
:scared

Houston +1 - Despite the recent let-downs, Houston is still a decent team, with the 4th quarter being their biggest bane. This game COULD be a shootout, but I can also see Jax putting forth a half-hearted effort (I know they are playing for a wild card berth, but Del Rio has been fucking horrible this year...), in which case the 4th quarter may not matter. I think the pass game wins this one, and again, wouldn't be shocked if Houston won by a TD or more.

NYG +1 - More a gut feel than a stat-based play, but it wasn't long ago that the Giants were still being talked about as a top team in the whole league, and other than Eli's injury, it's not as if they've lost a whole bunch of talent. The Cowboys flaws are obvious, and while they look better as of late, they should not be giving points (even if it's merely a formality) on the road. Unlike Jax here, I absolutely can't envision the Giant not brining everything they've got with their playoff chances on the line. Romo will get blitzed all day, and it could get ugly. That said, I'm least certain about a big cover here... so careful with that pleaser...

Again, I'd throw at least a couple bucks on a 4-team pleaser here just for shits. With the two +1's, it just seem to line up well. Certainly, I'd run with a small parlay, which is EXACTLY what I'll be doing, given that fact that I'm essentially broke. If I don't go 4-0 this week (or 3-0 if I ultimately opt out of one of the second two games--which I very likely won't--it's a losing week for me.
:scared Going for broke!

Fairly Confident Leans (...which I might throw into an even bigger parlay for a couple dollars... cuz that's what I do...)

Oakland +15
New England -4'
St. Louis +9'

If I absolutely HAD to pick them all (...just for shits)... :nono:  :mj06:
Kansas City +5
Atlanta +5'
Cincinnati -13
New Orleans -9'
Carolina -5' (Vegas knows something we don't, as the line movement is opposite the public bet)
San Francisco pk

Arizona +4 (buy the half)
Green Bay -3 (buy the half)

I'm feeling it this week guys! :00hour This could be my greatest post ever... Somebody tail me! :tongue

I like all of them except Houston. I think that the problem has been Garrard and not Del Rio. That said, I may put some cheese on your picks so you can live vicariously through someone. I want to check out Gibber before anything happens. i will let you know. :0corn

Some edits in case anyone cares...

I'm moving Oakland OUT of my "fairly confident leans"... just not sure I trust them.

I also refuse to ever bet on St. Louis, so they aren't really a play, even though I am fairly confident they win.

Also, I'm moving Carolina +4, New England -4(buy the half), and Arizona +4 (another Vegas trap) INTO my "fairly confident leans".

I will post my fingers-crossed 7-team parlay shortly... :00hour :mj06: :00hour

If you actually have money, I'd recommend maybe a Round Robin parlay with the first 4, and then maybe some more regular betting with those 4 and the others. ;)

One last heads up: DeAngelo Williams is out for Carolina today. So even though Delhomme is out :)00hour ) I might lay off this game.
