Just like last night when i said i can't find one reason why anyboby would bet on a average offense at best on the road against a solid defense in cinncinnati i find the same question marks handicapping the notre dame vs Pittsburgh Game. I can't find one reason anyone would want to bet Pittsburgh.

WHY OH WHY

On the Road
gave up 50 last week to a worse team than this weeks team
QB is out
defense has no confidence
notre Dame undefeated at home
notre dame will have a good play action
notre dame has confidence
notre Dame is healthy
pittsburgh is banged up

so tell me why are there so many people on here liking Pittsburgh? Like last night, and the houston game tuesday i don't get it. This line couily easily be 8. sometimes we tend to out-think are selves and i believe your doing it again with Pittsburgh. I quess thats why they play the game! good luck either way guys.:director:

i love them to, but that trend is great if a team can stay even and not fall behind. with a new quarterback weiss will make this team beat them through the air and we both now that. and what about the turnovers and with a new qb. I think we all can find better games to bet on then this pittsburgh play.

Notre Dame should win this by a TD, that passing offense is very good. I don't trust pittsburgh to get within 7

Also their QB is still doubtful and they lost their starting center last Saturday. And Rutgers hung 54 on them. I'll be on ND for $400

As for last night, if Grothe was anyway competent that could have covered. Him and the OC should be shot

:nono: When something looks too good to be true it usually is. This game opened at -7 and is now down to -4.5 at some places. Your first post is what 90% of the public knows and thinks about this game. Look a little deeper at the stats like AR mentioned and you see Pitt is a great rushing team and ND is a little weak in defending it. I have trend in favor of Pitt that has beat the line on avg by over 15 pts the last 4 times it came up. Also, the away team has won the last three meetings. LIVE DOG here.

javon ringer ran for 217 against Notre Dame. No reason McCoy shouldnt have a field day and keep them within the number.

Notre Dame actually bottled ringer up that day until he broke a 63 yarder late in the 4th and scored soon after

If Stull doesn't play then this line does look like a big play. He was in a neck brace on Monday and suffered a bad concussion. I'd be shocked if he played. Who knows how they operate with a new center and QB? I certainly want to be on the team with quick strike ability who can go up quick as opposed to a team completely limited to the ground game. A good ground game but not an overpowering one. 47th in the nation @ 4.2 a pop? Notre Dame rank 41st against the run @ 4.0 a pop. Seems pretty even to me

The Irish have covered the last 2 games. Pitt missed by 31 points last week

217-63 = 154.

Thats still a big day.

No doubt but he carried it 39 times. It was the accumulation that got them in the end. McCoy averages 23 carries a games. he'll need to hit 30 on Saturday if they are to have any chance

OH
@ Mich st
home against McCoy

South Bend Crowd should help ND defense dig in a little more against the run which is Pitts only option sat.

Haven't been checking the boards all that much , but I haven't seen that many on Pitt. But a good reason would be watching the ND defense against a double tight set all year. Stanford, MSU and UNC all had success and as good as the ND pass offense has been - they were off last week.

HELL
Pitt stinks as a favorite, but put them in an underdog role and they seem to do what nobody thinks they will. Have to ask yourself how much can Pitt score though? Giving up 50+ points to Rutgers is an embarassing. If ND gets 30+ points I can't see Pitt scoring enough to cover this spot being truly one-dimensional on offense.
