Why wasn't BYU taking a knee?

I wasn't watching the game but Gamecast said they ran 3 straight run plays with less than 2 minutes to go and TCU had, what, 1 timeout? Not only that, but after the 2nd run play they picked up a first down. Where's the knee? Why is it that college coaches/teams haven't picked up on the NFL habit of taking a knee when the game is no longer in doubt?

TCU actually had 2 timeouts and could have still stopped them... very weird ending as BYU could have covered if Patterson had some balls, but he could tell his team had given up and didn't use the timeouts like most coaches.

Oh, I didn't realize they had 2 timeouts. However, after the first down Gamecast said there was something like :46 left. Even if they had 2 timeouts you can just take the knee and the clock will run out. Maybe Gamecast was wrong though. Also really don't understand the timeout by TCU on 2nd down with :11 to go? Weird...
