I am not willing to pay the amount required for a Gym quality version, then again I do not want some $500 or less cheapo... anyone got any ideas on these or own one yourself that you are satisfied with.

Wife is very slender, but I am a big dude so it must be smooth and willing to accomodate 300 lbs.

Sears has a decent one made by NordicTrac on sale in this weeks flyer (at least where I live). Regular 799.99 on sale for 599.99. Been thinking about buying one but haven't pulled the trigger yet. They said it's last years model and they're replacing it with a newer model and that's why it's on sale.
