It appears that the purchase of Leroys, Luckys and Cal Neva by William Hill is a sound investment for that company, however, without the legalization of internet gambling on sports in all or most states , I fail to see how Hills purchase has any legs for profit.I know Nevada is profitable with mobile wagering but is that enough?

I think most agree that William Hill is taking a gamble that internet gambling will be legalized. If it is (and the economy also recovers), these companies would probably be worth a helluva lot more at that time. They're investing now at a (potentially) lower price and also getting licensed ahead of legalization instead of having to play catch-up later.

Sort of like buying LV real estate right now and renting it out. May prices decline further so that you haven't caught the exact bottom? Surely. Will you be sitting pretty a few years out when everyone then is lauding the foresight of those who bought now when all appears dark. Most likely.

Even within the Nevada-only market, the businesses will be worth more when the local economy eventually rebounds. And, as lays out, they further already will be in the pole position -- or at least on the front row -- when the regulatory environment changes for online gaming.

The Berlin Wall eventually comes down.

And while they've said they'll keep management for each operation in place, they'll eventually do at least some consolidation and cost cutting as they won't need three sets of personnel to do all operations. Hopefully, that will intersect with a rebounding economy so that everyone will land on their feet.
