Wind In ATL - will it effect pitchers?

I see at vegasinsider.com the wind is blowing in at 19 mph from center, gusting up to 32 mph. That's stsrong... my question is this, with SCHILLING being a fastball pitcher, this should only help, although it may cause his ball to rise up and out of the zone at times, but should increase the velocity. BUT, with BURKETT being a junk ball pitcher for the most part, relying on his curve and offspeed stuff, won't the wind effect his ability to spot the ball since it will be moving much slower, and turning different?? Just curious... any physics majors out there...

Obviously this helps the UNDER by keeping the ball inside the park, but what about flyballs... how many drop in, or are misplayed??? Any thoughts...

When the wind is blowing side to side(left to right---Vice vera) it is very difficult for the batter to hit the ball----it gives the pictcher extra movement on the ball!!! not so sure on the wind blowing that way though---Check your facts!!! OVer TOnight...

i do think there is a real chance for misplays if the wind changed at game time.

with this much lead time and a chance for both teams to take some balls in the outfield, I think those chances shrink dramatically.

it is a big bonus for Schilling, given his propensity for giving up bombs (led the majors or close to it in HRs allowed, I believe).

i don't know how much the wind can really affect each pitch, but my guess is "not much, if at all."

I think ATL will hit SCHILLING deep at some point, but I think ARIZ will hit BURKETT much harder... Thought the wind was blowing in HARD, but with no wind, and low humidity, the ball will leave the yard tonite! I'm on the DBACKS and OVER tonite...
