I remember making a comment last year that got quoted several times throughout last season.
--------------------------------------------------
"Ya take'n your life in your own hands whenever ya play the Dallas UNDER!"
I made that quotable comment after a lost Thursday night play on the under in the NY/Dal game went down BIGTIME.....and remember it like it was last night. :scared
--------------------------------------------------
Last year the Mavs were actually FOULING in blowout games with 2 & 3 minutes to go!!!!
Nellie and Donnie Boy had to be play'n the overs last year. (Or....Cuban was play'n 'em to pay for his fines?)
Spock and Dragon will remember that game (I forget against who)......Nellie had been ejected with the Mavs down by 20+ and about 3 minutes left.......then with Donnie Boy "at the controls".........the second team was in there fouling and call'n time outs like "madmen"!
They still lost the game by 15 or so but run up another 20+ points on the scoreboard to "snatch their OVER from the jaws of defeat" by one FREAK'N point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then, just let the clock run out in the last 30 seconds.......wow......how obvious what had just went down!

Sorry for the Little River Band....."stolling in the park and reminiscing".
OK for tonight...........
-The Rock/Mavs line opens at 188 and currently resides at 190.
-I can make you a case for the over or the under based on several statistical facts.
-Let's talk Houston first. They are averaging far more points (92 ppg) in the last 3 games as compaired to their first 3 (84 ppg).

-Why.....glad you asked......Yao is my guess. In his first 3 the big fellow looked in a daze scoring 8 pts. in 4 games! Welcome to the NBA Yao.
-However, in the last 4 games Yao has scored 36 and seems to have figured out the object of this game is to place the "round orange ball through the round orange hoop".
-As a result of Yao figuring out the object of the game......Houston has averaged 8 more ppg recently. Yea....Yao isn't a big minutes guy yet...but...for those minutes he is on the floor the fact he's scoring make a big difference whether you want the over or the under.
-Francis seems to be playing well and "headache free" stroke'n in 27 ppg.
-On the Mavs' side of the scoreboard tally ya have to be a little concerned about the "drop off" in scoring in the last 5 games without Van Exel and LaFrentz.
*LaFrentz goes down after 2 games
*Van Exel going down in the 6th game vs. Det
-Looking at the Mavs first 5 they averaged 109'ppg....then without Van Exel and LaFrentz team scoring has dropped off to 95 ppg.

-There were the same number of home (2) and road (3) games in each 5 for the Mavs.......if you were questioning that angle.
So....what to do, what to do???
I like the over because this will be an uptempo game and Houston's recent increased scoring makes up for Dallas' decrease in recent scoring.
-Rivalry
-An uptempo game
-With a home crowd for the team down in scoring
-And Yao now having a somewhat better understanding of the game's object tells me play the over 190.
-Regardless of the minutes Yao is on the floor tonight, his shots MUST drop when he's in there or he'll be the death of this over tonight.
-Wasted minutes by Yao could spell doom!!!!
