I will be rooting the orange on 1000%, but as usual I will not bet their tourney game as it is bad luck. This game should be very interesting, I could easily see Orange winning or Oklahoma covering the spread, but my gut tells me that the ORANGEMEN are on their way back to the final four!
The ORANGE are deeper than I can remember them ever being. With the emergence of Pace and McNeil it gives them 7 solid players and one Big White 7ft No talent body to take up fouls and space(Forth). The ability of Edelin and Pace to hit the mid range runner is amazing. Anthony has yet to shoot the ball well in the tourney, so if he does finally get hot it will be a huge plus, and if he is cold the orange have many other scoring options. Warrick also showed signs of returning to form in the game against auburn. This guy has a world of potential and couold have a big game on any given night. McNAmara can also be counted on to take and hit big shots as I don't think he will be affected by the pressure. Anything duany doesis a huge bonus, he has the potential to hit threes and score, which just shows how many options this orange team really has. With all that being said, the key to the game may be how Jeremy Mcneil can anchor the 2-3 zone. If he can stay out of foul trouble, he has proven that he can dominate the paint, great shot blocking and physical play is essential to them winning this game. The Orange are truly about to peek in my opinion, as unexpected key contributions have been coming from pace and mcneil, and these were not present during the great regular season they had. That combined with what I saw happen today, makes me think that Roy Willliams is no the only coach with a shot at his first title, nobody is talking about Boeheim, but if the orange can pull the upset against oklahoma, then the talk will begin. And once again the game is being played in Albany! Question mark is senior leadership, but Mcnamara and Edelin are 2 players that don't get rattled and make freshmen mistakes. Close low scoring game to be expected.
ORANGE WIN 67-61
