There are no Woody Williams, Derek Lowes, Pedro Martinez, Jason Marquis or Jeff Suppans in this series, there are some young flame throwers in the bullpens, a finess japanese pitcher who won the ALCS MVP in Uehara, and there are some classy veterans with experience, one in his first World Series in Beltran.
John Farrell was part of the Sox' success from 2007-2010 as pitching coach under Tito Francona.
Mike Matheny was a player for the Cards in the 2004 WS vs Boston.
No rookie in MLB ever, had two shutouts in the post-season, Michael Wacha did that this year.
Some just food for thought so far.
More to come!
