sorry guys for tonight. I was wrong on both sides. What a boring game. I don't know about you guys, but for some reason these teams looked pretty weak in the 1st half. But not as weak as my pick....

i guess so, I really thought since both teams have had such a poor showing thus far in preseason, that they may want to generate some offense. Good call JMIZEUS. Never saw what was happening. Although I did stay away from Denver, Lined moved from 3.5 to 6.5 in two hours. Seen that happen 4 times this preseason and it went the other way each time...i.e. dallas this week,

I really do not think that the teams looked weak in the first half. I think that the defenses were playing exceptionally well. All in all it was a pretty well played game on both sides opf the ball I think everyone just forgot about the defenses and how good they were going to be in this one.

Ridge,

Dont sweat it at all in preseason. I did the same thing as you, but even now I feel the Broncos should have been MUCH better in the game. What more could they have had? A motivated crowd in preseason and predictably a win for a legend.
Thats the problem with preseason ALWAYS. Coaches can either get up or just walk thru.
To me it showed that even tho this was a preseason game, Denver just doesnt have the toughness.

BTW,
San Fran showed the toughness. Congratulations to their fans. Yes, its preseason, but toughness is not something you turn on and off. (see the response in Matchups forum about the upcoming Panthers game).
The Bears and the 49ers have solid teams and after loses (SF 2), the teams got back to business.

Denver

Many people thought that the Broncos would show more "balls" when they played San Fran (myself included).

RB Davis meant a lot to this organization, but at the time I felt they really blew it by his "ceremony" and the teams apparent lack of desire. What an insult to him to not play as hard as he did.

Now it seems many others also feel the same way:By Lee Rasizer, Rocky Mountain News
August 21, 2002

Terrell Davis simply wanted to raise hand to forehead and give one final Mile High Salute to Denver's fans.

But based on some of the reactions to the pregame ceremony honoring the running back Monday night, it was as if the Broncos were thumbing their nose in return.

The team was criticized on air and in print for the seemingly haphazard nature of the ceremony that preceded the Broncos' 12-7 preseason loss to San Francisco. That the stadium was half-filled when Davis emerged from the tunnel angered some, most notably Broncos defensive end Trevor Pryce, who said, "That's not the way to send off the best running back in the franchise's history."
